No. I'm not joking.

Posting potential coaches for a job that isn't open is ridiculous.

Your answer to a new coach is asinine. We just beat a coach that came from a Big 12 school obviously his team isn't dominating the MAC. Off the top of my head MSU has lost two consecutive games.

Talk about a coach that can't make adjustments or beat a team they should beat, you have him with John L. Smith. He also had a nice press conf. speech after the game and his team got in a fight with Illinois after the game. Yeah he's a big improvement over coach Brandon.

Here is my initial post again......

The first statement is clearly a question although I failed to put a question mark. The rest is mostly facts.......And is at the very least not my opinion.

John L Smith anyone

Pros: Bigtime Coach
From a team not to far away where he could possibly get his former recruits to go to BG
Familiar with the Midwest
Will want to be a HC somewhere
Not Greg Brandon
Helped Louisville take the step we want to take.

Cons:Not a great motivator
His teams fall apart
Not urban Meyer

PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE:
College - Graduate assistant at Weber State (1971); assistant coach at Montana (1972-76); defensive coordinator at Nevada (1977-81); assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Idaho (1982-85); assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Wyoming (1986); assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Washington State (1987-8Cool; head coach at Idaho (1989-94); head coach at Utah State (1995-97); head coach at Louisville (1998-2002); head coach at Michigan State (2003-).

COACHING RECORD:
128-78 (.621) in 17 years as a college head coach; 53-21 (.716) in six seasons at Idaho (1989-94); 16-18 (.471) in three seasons at Utah State (1995-97); 41-21 (.661) in five seasons at Louisville (1998-2002); 18-18 (.500) in three seasons at Michigan State (2003-).

Ask the folks in South Bend how that worked out for them.

Good point,

It may not have worked out as they planned, but it has worked out.

Matela, I don't know what prompted you to post this and why the hell you decided to post at a time like this, but in both cases you're out of your damn mind. Number 1, Brandon is under contract through the 2008 season and we don't fire coaches before their contracts are up at BG, as evidenced by our failure to can Dan Dakich last March. Number 2, why in the hell would we want to fire Gregg Brandon?! He's maintained and even further helped to grow a winning program built by Urban Meyer at the turn of the century. We've never had a losing season in Brandon's tenure, and likely won't have one this year, or 2007, or 2008 either judging by the looks of recent recruiting and the prospective roster going forward.

Between this and your comment about white running backs not getting recruited for racial reasons, you've really lost it tonight. Are you D'ed or something?

If y'all dislike this post so much, why respond? Just let it fall to the bottom of the page.

I dont see the problem of discussing potential future coaches who will likely be available this offseason. Brandon is not a good coach. I would like a good coach.

As far as the racial issue goes, Here is an example. Black QBs in the 80's were not looked at as black QBs but rather athletes. They were not given there fair chance because of subconscious opinions of scouts and coaches. Maybe at times conscious. Why could that not translate to white RB's now....Brewer, Mr Football, Ohio 1998. Name me a white RB who is not a power back right now in major college football. Are you telling me no white players can play RB. I understand this may be controversial, that does not make it completely false. I don't think there is an effort to not allow white RBs into college football, I think it is some sort involuntary issue.

This was probably no the forum for me to post that. I admit that. And I was going to let it go, but I will respond to people who keep bringing it up.

Gregg Brandon is the head coach at BGSU. End of discussion until another time, IMO.

All we need is a coach who hits himself in the face at his press conference...that'll really help solve things.

Brandon will be here until his contract expires, end of story!

my thoughts exactly.... John L. Smith teams have a history of choking and falling apart in the face adversity. He is one of the worst ideas you could come up with as a new head coach.
