MAC Internet Broadcast
MAC Internet Broadcast
I justed wanted to say that my experience this weekend with the MAC Internet broadcast of the BG/OU game was a good one. I had a little bit of a problem logging in with my password, but I eventually got in and watched the entire game. The video stream was really good and only had a few reload issues during the game.
I brought home a projector from work that we use for PowerPoint presentations and hooked it up to my laptop. I was able to show it on my basement wall at about 75 inches with no loss in picture quality. I had the sound muted and had my TV in the room on with another game showing.
I was really pleased with the broadcast and the quality of the picture. It was diffently worth the $7.95 and I would recommend it to anyone who has DSL or broadband cable Internet service. I look forward to future INternet broadcasts. One day you'll be able to buy a season ticket and watch all the BG games this way.

We also watched throughthe internet. Had some initial problems with password and sound that we sent emails to technical support and they quickly corrected. Only downside was the delay. On the radio broadcast or in the Chat room, we would know of a play results before seeing it. Made it easy to predicts what would happen?!?!? Ended up leaving the Chat room and listening only to the internet broadcast (bad part was Ohio announcers). $7.95 was cheap and a BG win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear you two had a good experience. Ours was different. Corey's grandparents in Florida had a terrible time with it. It would not take their password that they purchased on Friday.
They went ahead and repurchased to get a new one and it didn't work either
They missed most of the 1st quarter. They entered their login about 30 times before it finally went thru with the exact same password that would not work before.
Once in they missed much of the 4th quarter due to the screen freezing up. They could hear audio but lost the video. It was a very bad experience.
But since it is their only option to see the game they were happy with what they did see.
My sister-in-law in Northeastern ohio had a very difficult time with it also. I had purchased the subscription on Friday and it would not take my login for her to watch. She had to repurchase the program to finally get it to work. Of course the audio portion was out for almost the whole 1st quarter. Then she experience some lock ups and had to restart several times.
I just don't think they have the technology worked out yet. Their servers are definately getting overloaded at times. I have checked both computers and they are setup perfect for this. They both have high speed and the correct versions of software. The sample works perfect everytime. So we had to purchase 4 subscriptions just to be able to watch it at two places. Extra $16 to xos.
Maybe it will be better next week. If any of you have any tips or hints to help us out please let us know.

It worked great for me during the FIU game, but the audio was rotten and the video kept freezing for a good portion of the Kent game. I was on the go much of this past Saturday, so I didn't buy it for this week, but I'm probably willing to give it another shot in the future, knowing that when it does work it's pretty tight.

No, its based off of a userID (which is your email address) and a password that you chose.Dayons_Den wrote:Cue thrifty bastard music. . .
Does the service recognize different IP addresses and tie a single password to a single IP?
My parents felt paying double wasn't really a problem since they did get to see Most of the touches Corey had in the game.
I will be contacting their customer support this week to find out how we can optimize the connection and how to get the page refreshed when it does freeze up. My parents aren't the best when it comes to computers.
I just don't understand why it rejects the password multiple times and then magically it works. I guess the early purchase is not the best way to go, maybe purchase it right at game time?

Yeah I have purchased it 3 times- Kent, FIU, and Ohio U. I purchase within 15 minutes of kick off and I do remember you kind of have to reload the MAC-Access page.Spart43 wrote:No, its based off of a userID (which is your email address) and a password that you chose.Dayons_Den wrote:Cue thrifty bastard music. . .

As to my IP question, I was wondering if I could say buy the game at my work computer and watch it at work. . . then maybe leave it on at work, go home during the game and watch it at home while it was still up and running on my work computer. . . .
all bowling green
I watched the game via mac-sports last weekend. The throughput was pretty good and I never had it freeze up like others have mentioned. I simultaneously listened via CSTV to the live play by play. The combination worked very well except for a slight (3-5 sec) delay between what I heard and what I saw. All in all it was a great way to get to see the game. I will be at the shoe for this weeks game. Can't miss that once in a lifetime experience! Where's my camera.....

I think if it came down to that, and the ball was around say the Buc-ay 35, he would have a REAL good chance of putting it through. Wouldn't THAT be something?! That might even make sports center!Tricky_Falcon wrote:Think Big Bird has a game-winning field goal in him this weekend?
Of course, if that were to happen every player on the entire TEAM would deserve GREAT KUDO'S for getting the game to that point. I probably wouldn't get to see that kick though, since I would have passed out when they set up for the attempt... lol
If that happens, I'm storming the field and tearing down that goal post the winning kick went through. They let you storm the field and tear down the goal posts in Columbus, don't they? Who's with me?MIBGSUFan wrote:I think if it came down to that, and the ball was around say the Buc-ay 35, he would have a REAL good chance of putting it through.
