I'm not sure how long that has been going on for. I'm sure someone else may have more insight into this tradition than I do.

The cannon showed up in 2001, along with Urban Meyer. I recall this, as the FMB shirts that year proclaimed "Lights, Cannon, Action."

Sure. You saw it in the "second floor" of the "courthouse".

Uh-huh.
Hey! Who asked you?

Script Ohio claification

Post by tbdbitl »

Not trying to stick my nose into another team’s board. But I wanted to clarify something about Script Ohio.

The OSUMB did NOT get the Script Ohio drill from m*ch*g*n.

Here is the story.

Four years before The OSUMB first performed the Script the m marching band spelled out each schools name they visited (that is still done today by all Big Ten bands). The m band marched to the positions of Ohio - in script - and diagonally. They did not march - or write out the script spelling Ohio.

4 years later The OSUMB "wrote-out" Ohio in script. When asked about the inspiration Dr. Weigel stated he had seen a rotating sign in Times Square and a sky-writer above the State Fair and that gave him the idea for the Script.

Just thought I would correct that.

UM was the first school to perform the "most overrated moment in college football."

Sorry, OSU's band does nothing for me.

To each his own, but as I stated, the m*ch*g*n band did not write out the script, only Ohio State did that.

The overwhelming majority of CFB fans disagree with you. As a former member and "i" dotter, it is something I think is very special.

I enjoy all college marching bands and would never degrade any college kid who wants to sacrifice all that time and energy, for no money and little credit, towards something they love.

dont waste your time..they went to and graduated and still care about BG so they are not capable of comprehension when somone from the real world tries to explain something to them...

What separates me from them is that i got out of "that" world and re joined the real world.

Tek, the world you're living in hardly fits the description of "real".
In the "real" world, people don't actually think of themselves as respectable for talking trash about a college football team on said football team's own fan board.
You may be fooling yourself, and you may well fool some of the other OSU fanboys that come on here, but don't insult my intelligence with your drivel.

Wow... do you guys eat your own for dinner too? (They claim to do that in Cinci.)

I almost drove up to BG yesterday to kidnap my niece, I had no idea she was going to school in such a hostile environment.

Thanks for all the input everyone... I have been up to BG many times watching sporting events as my niece is an athlete. I have seen Freddy and Frieda, too cute!!!

If you're talking about Tek, he's not one of our own. Just ask it.
