MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE DON'T WANT A LOPSIDED SCORE. IF BG PLAYS A GOOD GAME (THAT MEANS NO TURNOVERS), AND KEEPS OHIO STATE'S DEFENSE GUESSING (MUCH THE SAME AS OHIO U'S WAS), WE SHOULD FINISH THE DAY LOOKING RESPECTABLE. OF COURSE, SPEED KILLS, AND OSU HAS IT AND THIS IS THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE THAT BG WILL HAVE TO OVERCOME. BUT WITH A LITTLE COACHING FINESSE, AND AGAIN, NO TURN OVERS, THE FINAL SCORE WILL BE ..... OSU 35 BGSU 21

im a huge fan of both teams. more a fan of ohio state. but still, bowling green doesnt belong on the same field as ohio state. BG couldnt tackle anybody during the buffalo or kent state game, what makes you think that BG's defense will be able to tackle ginn, gonzalez, pittman, beanie wells? well they wont be able to. BG's offense will struggle to get anywhere near 250 yards and will struggle to hold ohio state under 550. in all honesty, i think that ohio state could play its backups and still win.[/quote]
Fortunatly that is why the game is played on the field and not on paper or in your mind. We play division 1-A football, just like OSU. For no other reason than that we do beling on the same damn field as OSU. We may get our butts kicked. But we still deserve to have that chance. Now go back to your residence hall room in BG and jerk off on your buckeye necklace.....

I'm just glad this isn't last years game against Michigan. I can't imagine what kind of tomfoolery might be suggested with a Wolverine in the dorm room during the prediction forum.

This could be a B!G day for B!G Bird. There should be lots of opportunities for him to show off that leg and make some field goals.
With that said, unfortunately, I have to go with Ohio's Second-Rate University beating our Falcons. This just isn't the right year for us against them (but that's why we play the game - maybe they'll be overlooking us as many of their fans are).
BG 20
OSU 38
Tressell will not embarass us. With Beckman on staff and being an in-state school, I think he'll be competitive but won't go overboard.
I just want a competitive game with no injuries. In the B!G scheme, this game does not mean much towards our year-end goals.

BG- 14
OSU- 38
I think we hang in their for awhile, but eventually lose out to a better team.

Ohio State does not defend offenses that are constantly attacking from multiple directions. I think they will have a hard time with the spread offense. Unfortunately, it seems our offense sometimes has difficulties with the spread offense too!
I agree with the above statement that this isn't the best year to play Ohio A+M, but we'll take the big pay check and show them that we don't lay down for anyone!
If our offense can keep things varied and not simply run Freddie Barnes 50 times, then we have a chance! The short dumps to our tight ends will be huge for us. It will keep the LB's up close and give our wide outs some room to operate.

With Turner and Barnes both playing, and if the coaches can keep things moving, (i.e. dont have Freddie run the ball 42 times, and every so often have AT throw a pass), it'll be closer than what most are saying. Maybe we'll get that one TD and get to overtime- that changes everything!!!

First of all, Five Iron Frenzy will NEVER be forgotten.
I think that the Buckeyes have a slight letdown, stick to a vanilla gameplan, play the second/third strings and fail to cover the spread for the first time this season.
38-13
I will buy BG being competitive with an unmotivated Ohio State team for the first half, but anyone who honestly expects the Falcons to win this game should have their college football fan privileges revoked.

BGSU-18
OSU-17
We go for two on the TD before the half (our 2nd TD). Because chances are OSU will win the toss and elect to SCORE first.
Only six points scored in the second half. First an OSU FG. Followed by a BG FG. Then the D doesn't let OSU past the 50 for the remaining 3 minutes.
I will then run through the foutain in front of Ad.Min. building without clothes on.

No. 1 Ohio State 48, Bowling Green 13: The last time these two met (in 2003), the Falcons hung with the Buckeyes and lost 24-17. I expect BGSU, which has a pretty formidable ground attack, to do a little damage early. But a Falcons defense that surrendered 38 to Kent State will be overmatched by the Buckeyes' speed and array of weapons. The most interesting play might be whether OSU's budding star LB James Laurinaitis picks off a pass for the fifth straight game. My hunch is yes.

I agree that our defense will be overmatched against the Buckeyes' speed and weapons; however, I am tired of seeing our defense being ripped up for giving up 40 to Buffalo and 38 to Kent State. Out of those 78, 14 were due to a kickoff return and a punt block return, 13 was in overtime, 7 was a fumble return, and 7 was on a short-field (inside the BG 20) after a fumble recovery. These two lesser offenses didn't exactly shred our defense like it is being out made to.mk455 wrote:http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/insider/ ... id=2613859
