couple of things I didn't read until today -
per BG News, James Unger was injured - might not play this weekend - hope he's feeling better
per Inside College Hockey, Mark Voakes quit the team. I wish he would have hung around a little longer, if this was strictly a "not playing me" issue. I kept telling him last year that Dan Bylsma didn't get playing time during the early years of his BG career.

I figured that most of us had BG News bookmarked, so I didn't post the link:BGSUfanatUT wrote:That article says Mike Nesdill is injured, and nothign about James. I hope that LSS is out of shape, our guys are going to be tired after this one.

Re: player updates:10/29
It was in the paper about Voakes, sorry to see him go. He was on the Baseball team last year, so I wonder if he will stay on there. Wish him well whatever he chooses!! Unger was listed in the paper as "doubtful", so I really don't expect him to play . The team's conditioning will be a HUGE factor in the games. I know they have worked their collective butts off for the strength coach and expect them to be able to go the distance. We have had a shorter bench than this in the past and the players dressing tonight will get a lot of ice time, which will help us all out in the long run. Expect a GOOD, hard fought series this weekend!!bgbill wrote:couple of things I didn't read until today -

GOOOOOOO FALCONSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

James played with a special protector on, looked like the sort of thing football linemen wear, that sticks up behind the neck. Very appropriate for Halloween weekend; gave him a Frankenstein Monster look. Didn't seem to affect his normal hard-playing style.

If Unger plays like that when he is "hurt" .....wow! Can't wait to see him without the protector. He seemed much faster than last year!!! He was pretty incredible last night. It was like he had glue on his stick whenever he had the puck. He was fun to watch!!
