Sunday Night Game: NIU vs. Miami (OH) ??
Sunday Night Game: NIU vs. Miami (OH) ??
Does anyone know why NIU and Miami are playing on Sunday night at 8pm. I'm just curious as to why they would schedule a game on Sunday when the NFL has a full slate of games.

You are correct about that. I recently (maybe August) read an article where Miami's AD was talking about the MAC and whoring it out to ESPN for all these televised games. At the time it sounded like he really didn't think attendance would be that bad. Had he only known they would be 0-5, he probably wouldn't have gone for that deal.factman wrote:I also was told it is Miami's homecoming!!!!!! wow.......think anyone will stick around for the game?

But the question has to be asked, who was the moron who scheduled a night game on a Sunday and still made it Homecoming? Regardless of whoring the MAC, they should know better than to do that. Most conferences have deals with the networks that Homecoming games have to be held at a certain time and can't be moved once scheduled.
Of course, the MAC isn't most conferences. And Miami may be a school full of smart people, but it is also a school of fools that lack common sense.

The homecoming date was set back when the football schedule was initially released. Many Redskin alums are upset that the game was changed from the original Saturday afternoon time to Sunday evening by the Athletic Department and the MAC. Don;t look for great attendance at this one.

Not to mention the NIU fans that would now have at least a 5-6 hour drive home after an 8pm Sunday night game.
