It's this crap that makes me sick. You're priorities are f*cked up.

If you had half the balls to go out there and attempt to give as much effort as they do, you MIGHT have an argument here. But as I don't see your name on the roster, quit blowing smoke up our collective ass.

I think I talked to Jahmal Brown and told me that the kids who are rooting for OSU on this campus should never, ever be allowed to go to a BGSU football game, and I had to agree with him.

Yeah that is an awesome idea! that way there will be about 2000 less kids then usual there cheering them on. Hell, tell Jahmal that if they can beat Buffalo in regulation or maybe even keep with 2 scores of Kent St. then more people may support them.
1st, let me start by telling you how much of a tool you are. What does beating Buffalo in reg. or beating Kent St. have to do with being a fan? YOU ARE BANDWAGON just by saying that. If Ohio St. drops a game to Northwestern, are you going to stop supporting them too? My point exactly.
A OSU fan here on my floor asked me if I was going to the BG hockey game last night, I said yes and I told him he can't go, and he gets all in my face about it and asks why, and I said well you root for Ohio State don't you? And of course he said yes, so I replied: Therefore, BGSU athletics must not matter to you at all, you can't have it both ways, you should root for the Ohio State hockey team as well, right? I pretty much shut him up, and I simply told him that if he or anyone ever goes to a BG athletic event wearing an Ohio State shirt, sweatshirt, etc. that they are indirectly slapping our student athletes in the face. It sickens me that you can pay $13,000 to go here a year and not give a damn about the school's athletics.
Well aren't you just a hardass. I have been an OHIO STATE football fan all my life, i've been a BG fan for 6 weeks. It dosen't mean I don't support BG football but my first priority is and always will be THE Ohio State Buckeyes. I'm sure there are plenty of people that jumped on teh Bandwagon this year but that dosen't mean every OSU fan on campus is a bandwagon fan...saying that is very ignorant and rather stupid.

It could have been me they were mad about, i wore my OSU hat and BG shirt all day yesterday, i figure they give me a half ass effort on special teams, i'll return the favor.
1st off, do you determine how much you root for ohio st each week by how ohio st's special teams play??? Or is that only for how much you bandwagon BG? You're a pathetic fan and student of this school, it'd be more than justified if Sidney Rubeau kicked your sorry ass out of school for being such a pathetic person

It's sad that those kids don't have the pride that they should have in their school. I don't care if you grew up an OSU fan, you made a conscious decision to go to BG, and you should support your school in anything and everything it does. It makes me sick that kids will be cheering against their own school tomorrow afternoon.
Now this is a pretty solid argument, on ethat i can respect. It's not so much a lack of pride in their school as much as sticking to what i always have been. I consider myself a BG and OSU fan and now that the two are playing i will be generallly neutral but it's difficult to root agians the tema i've been rooting for my whole life just because BG is the school that takes all of my money.
What has Ohio St ever done for you? Did you ever attend OSU? That's why you should be rooting for BG. You are a student at this university, and you're nothing but a fan of a different school. That's your decision, but when YOUR school comes onto the same field, it's pretty pathetic to root against your own school...

Thank you....when your ass is out there doing something on the football field you can criticize how our players perform. But unless you've played at the same level as these guys, maybe you should shut your ass up and respect your fellow students who are playing their ass off on the football field every weekend.

Right On Guys! :supz: Even though I've said my fair share of crap against the football team, I'll still cheer them on to victory because I know that they are trying their best. Some of these guys that "aren't fans of bg" just because of how they play on the field don't know what it's like to be down there on that field playing the game. I'm interested to see how many people switch from cheering on OSU to cheering on BGSU if we happen to win the game tomorrow. Then we'll know who the bandwagon folks are, and then we'll know who's azz to kick then. :smt097 :smt098 :smt093 :axe: :smt067 :smt066 :smt062

If that is all BG is to you, then by all means, transfer to OSU.
If he shows me the paperwork, I'll send him $20 to help with any application fee.

I will say this:

It was easier in my day to understand that Bowling Green had no obligation to bow and scrape to anyone. All it took was one winter to figure that out.

When I was in school, the Falcons beat the stuffing out of teams at BGSU Ice Arena. When Michigan and Michigan State came to town, those were tough games, but we expected to win, and we won our share, in front of full or nearly-full houses.

As for Notre Dame and Ohio State? They were blow outs, again and again and again. 7-2. 5-2. Falcons win. Falcons sweep. And so on. We could almost name the score any time the Buckeyes or the Irish came to town.

So, after one winter, most of the people who had ever ventured out to BGSU Ice Arena understood intuitively that we have every reason to hold our head up high, no matter who we were playing in any sport. Our football team was no good, but, still, I think there was some carry over. It helped that, at the time, only football outdrew hockey, and people still fondly remembered the '85 season and Brian McClure's chase of the Heisman and the NCAA record book.

That's an Ohio State flag? I thought it was just a big Zero flag. Thought the guy was a fan of placeholders.

his flag is ignorant?? I didnt know flags had a brain. they have to have some kind of thinking power to be considered ignorant
Great point Tekekini. But, didn't you, in the post immediately above your little flags don't have brains rant, refer to a rock as "gay"?

I totally agree. Whatever happens tomorrow, happens. But this season has already shown me what this team is all about. Maybe we don't have quite the talent at certain positions as last year (yet), but they've got a ton more heart IMO>

I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. We are leaving by 10AM cuz I want to see our players walk into the Shoe for pregame warmups. I've heard enough crap this week at work to last a lifetime. I was on the phone at 4pm trying to make a sale while 2 co-workers, OSU fans, were behind me yelling "BG's gonna get its ass kicked tomorrow!!!" Real professional guys. Of course these 2 chachs never stepped foot on OSU's campus. :-D

You're a freshman so I'm going to give you the benefit of not knowing sh*t. That's not a slam. It's just a fact. No one on this board knew sh*t when they were in their first year of school - irregardless[sic] of school attended.

I wish to take your statements and break them down to a very simplistic statement. When you 'root' for another school against your own school, you are wishing failure upon your fellow students. We back our own. I still back my own even being 13 years removed from school. I still want the best for my fellow alumni and the students who currently attend - even you, kiddo.

I have zero problems with dual fandom, but your fellow students should get your favor when both collide.

I realize that it's be done and taken care of, but after talking to a few OSU band members, it wasn't a few BG students who painted the rock. Apparently a few OSU students did make the trip up to BG just to paint the rock. Hopefully any football players that are on here will feel a little bit better about that even though the game is over.

Heh. Good thing they weren't worried about "little BG".

Greeks be damned, that rock should stay the way it is until football season is over. And have the team bus drive by it on the way out to the last two home games!

You mean those people who wear Smith and Ginn jerseys to the game? You can keep them.
