I know this happens just about every week so maybe I shouldn't post this but Nick lied AGAIN about his record against the spread this week... or should I say "he accidentally made another honest mistake in which he did not intend to make" :roll:
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

You should ctrl+alt+printscreen and screen capture his picks and compare them the following week haha that's funny.

or you could also "ctrl+alt+whocares?" which has the same effect. :roll:

Right. But we're talking about REAL journalists here, not the NYT. :-D

Not that it really matters, but didn't he go 2-5 ATS. Maybe I don't understand something, could someone look at this and explain it to me.

Nick said: "Weekly Predictions : Both straight up and ATS went 4-3"

Someone explain the spread business to me.

Oh, just to clarify. I am not taking a shot at Nick. I appreciate what he does and enjoy reading his predictions.

Keep up the good work Nick. Just explain this ATS stuff to me.

ATS means against the spread. For example:

Nick picked Akron to beat Cinci. Cinci won, but did not "cover" the spread of 7 points, because they only won by 6. By picking Akron to win outright, he also picked them to cover the spread of 7 points. In this case, Nick is 0-1 straight up, because Akron didn't win, but he's 1-0 ATS, because Akron covered.

Going the other way, he picked NIU to beat Miami 42-16. The spread was 11, so he picked NIU to win outright and cover the spread. The final score was 28-25 NIU. So NIU did in fact win outright, but did not cover the spread of 11 points. In this case, Nick is 1-0 straight up, but 0-1 ATS.

Comprende?

Thats what I thought. So was he 4-3 ATS or 2-5 ATS. Looks like 2-5 to me. I am sure it would be an honest mistake. Or I calculated it wrong.

He was 4-3 ATS.

Missed Western - OU, Got Ball St. - UB, Got Kent St. - Temple, Got Akron - UC (although he picked the wrong team to win, Akron still covered), Got BGSU - OSU, Missed Turd - Central, Missed NIU - Miami

[quote="BGSUfalcons"]He was 4-3 ATS.

You are right he did go 4-3. I thought he went 3-4, but he won the Akron game by 1pt... I thought Akron was favored in that game. But in week 2 he went 1-8 and claimed 4-5, and in week 3 he went 4-5 and claimed 5-4. At least he didn't lie this week. Hats off for that...
