Nice win today

Post by BGSU33 »

I'm very happy we won today.....just a little ticked NIU did too. I love the way we've kept the winning coming and coming. I just hope we can win out a find a place to land in a bowl game. :goodman:

its ok NIU still has to beat Toledo at home and Eastern away. If NIU loses those games and we beat Toledo we win the MAC west so all is not lost. If NIU can barely beat a 1-7 Ball State team away then they'll have heaps of trouble against a 3-5 Eastern team haha. :D

I think Eastern is a tougher opponent than their record shows. They can move the ball effectively when they need to and can toss some points on the scoreboard. Their problems seem to lack in their defense. If they improve there, I think they might be able to beat NIU. When you score a lot of points but your opponent scores more a majority of the time, you can't blame the offense.

EMU is an improving team. If they get their D going, look out. Offensively, they're talented.

Look at it this way...EMU is 3-5, 3-2 MAC. The Eagles get CMU at home next week, Kent on the road and close with NIU at home. EMU could be shooting for a winning season in finale so who knows? How they lost to Idaho and Eastern Ill at home is a mystery.

Hey, stranger things have happened. If NIU had trouble with Ball State and UCF.....

Northern is not a juggernaut by a long stretch. For my money, I think they will beat UT at home, but then get knocked off by Eastern. I know that doesn't help us win the West. But that is what I see happening.

And UT loses to Miami Tuesday night. And we win out. So who is the MAC team on the biggest roll at the end of the season? BGSU! Even without winning the West or playing in the MAC championship, I think that makes us attractive to Bowl committees in that they know they would at least be getting a very competitive team.
