2007 Schedule

As long as we get NIU and Toledo at the Doyt I will be happy. That will make the home schedule next year a very good one for the fans.

I hope the Toledo game gets moved up...its silly to play that game so late.

I am thinking some actions will follow this season from the NCAA(you know the pawn of the BCS). to begin a reduction of teams overall.

Why is it silly to play that game so late? I guess it's silly to have Florida v. Florida State late, Ohio State-Michigan, Auburn-Alabama, USC-UCLA. These must all be games that are just silly to have late in the year.

Oh wait, it's rivalry week. My bad...must be a good time to have them

I think the MAC rotations for the upcoming years were actually published recently, but I might be wrong.

It makes no sense to waste a potentially beautiful day on the Toledo game, which people come to no matter what. Having it at the end of the season is a great thing for Falcon football and Rocket football.

What ever happened with the home game against Minnesota? I thought that I heard on here that we had a one and done with them? Can anybody help, or am I going crazy?

Sep 15, 2007 FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
Sep 29, 2007 BOISE STATE
Sep 6, 2008 MINNESOTA
Sep 20, 2008 @ Wyoming
Sep 27, 2008 @ Boise State
Sep 12, 2009 @ Missouri
Oct 3, 2009 WYOMING

Those are the only official games. IIRC, spreculation is that we may have a series with Pittsburgh set up. Or they have a game listed with us in their media guide or something.

A quick check of nationalchamps.net shows all the games listed above plus these three:
Aug 30, 2007 @ Virginia Tech
Sep 13, 2007 @ Pittsburgh
Sep 11, 2010 @ Ohio State

Of course, that would give us 5 OOC games in 2007, something is not right.

I had heard that the Boise State game will be at Boise. Don't know that for sure but it came from a pretty reliable source. We got messed up by the MAC in scheduling for this year and missed our chance to have them come here. I guess this goes under the category of heresay. Anyone else hear this?

Haven't heard anything like that, but you are closer to the program than most of us. We do play at Boise in 2008, so maybe that was the game they were talking about. We already got screwed in this deal in that it was originally 2 one and one deals. First deal was for games in 2005 and 2006, then another deal for games in 2007 and 2008. The '05 and '07 games were to be in Boise and the '06 and '08 games in BG. Then the MAC scheduling raised its ugly head and we looked at our schedule for 2006 and begged out of that game, but had the '07 games switched to BG and it looks like the second home game in BG was dropped. Any way you look at it, we are on the short end. We should not have to do 2 for 1 deals with teams like Boise St. And if what Spart says is correct, we may end up with a 2 for 0 or 3 for 0.

Well, I've long sort of thought that having two I-A nonconference games at the Doyt might be a bit much.

If it could be worked out, I would think it might be worth asking to have the Boise State trip to Doyt Perry Stadium moved to another year and bringing in a I-AA team for a sixth home game.

But, looking at what's been posted, we would host Minnesota in '08 and Wyoming in '09, so moving the Boise State home game wouldn't accomplish anything.

I can say that the Boise State series was originally supposed to be a home and home. In fact, last season, The Blade reported that a second home and home was a possibility.

Then, when the Boise State trip to BG was moved to '07, a second trip to Boise was added -- but not a second trip to BG.

It's all a little weird. It seems to be turning into a two-for-one... and, while I respect the hell out of Boise State, I can think of plenty of other programs I'd rather have that kind of arrangement with in our own time zone.
