I'm not rooting for a Toledo win. I'm rooting for a Kent loss.

Not necessarily true. We can still pull off a three way tie with Kent, Ohio, and BG with each being 1-1 against each other. Then it goes to all kinds of goofy tie breakers that I don't want to think about until it becomes relevant. So, the really big game is Ohio vs Kent.98_BG_GRAD wrote: We need Kent to lose at least twice and Saturday would be a good start.

To save all of us major headaches while reading through 8 millions threads at the end of the regular season, let's pull for two Kent losses and no more BG losses. It will make all of our lives a lot simpler. But, Warthog, I understand where you are coming from. Thanks for setting me straight.Warthog wrote:Not necessarily true. I will amend my original statement and say that I will be cheering for a Kent loss on Saturday as well, in place of a Toledo victory.

UT beating Kent St.
As much as I wan't it to happen, I can easily see Kent blasting UT possibly. UT has even lost at home to CMU. That just doest' happen. So if UT is at Kents place its over I'm afraid and so goes the championship, cuz no one else is beating Kent the way it looks right now. We're basically hopeing for a bowl at the end of season if we win out.

Yep, I can see Kent blasting UT. I can also see Amstutz rallying his troops and making a statement against the Flashes.
Kent also has to play Ohio yet, and while the Snobkitties are no powerhouse, they are no pushover, either. Just ask NIU. There's also the little issue of them finishing their season AT Balls Tate, which is looking pretty good with their new QB.
So let's not get too hasty in handing over the MAC East crown just yet.
For now, let's take it one weekend at a time. Right now, we need to be focused on beating the Emus and hoping Toledo pulls off the upset.

They beat Temple by 17. They're not unbeatable, regardless of what you may or may not have seen at DLP a few weeks ago.falconboy wrote:cuz no one else is beating Kent the way it looks right now.
Even at their worst, UT always seems to come alive when they've dug themselves a hole. This game could easily go either way, possibly.

I can see this game going either way. If I had to bet, I would take Kent straight up, but I can see UT making a statement in this one. After all, this is Kent, so this will show how they can handle being a favorite against a traditional MAC power.
I think Kent could lose Saturday, they could lose to OU and they could lose to Testicle Tech. Just ask UT about playing in Muncie in recent years. The first order of business for BG is to win the remaining MAC games. If that happens, and a victory over Temple, I think BG has a great shot at a bowl game. I do think, however, that CMU has a great chance to win the West and Kent to win the East and if that happens, I think they get bowl bids and Garrett Wolfe gets the third bid. Well, Mr. Wolfe and the rest of the Huskies. GW will be a huge draw for any bowl and for ESPN. They could prevent a better team from going to a bowl game, maybe a little payback for the folks in DeKalb for the years they were left home when deserving of a bowl bid.

None of us should ever be "rooting" for Toledo. That is disgusting. I hope it's a 2-0 game where Kent gets possibly backed up and slips in the endzone for a safety.BGDrew wrote:I'm not rooting for a Toledo win. I'm rooting for a Kent loss.
