So is there any truth to this Michigan game in 2007?

Nope. It's an old joke from a few seasons back.

So are we looking at Pitt or Virginia Tech as our big OCC game in 2007? I figured those bigger OCC games were usually figured out by now.

Dunno.

If I were BGSU, I'd be trying to line up a home run home game for 2010, our 100th anniversary, something on the order of our Minnesota home game (or better).

Something like that might require two road games. So, if we have an opening in 2007, maybe that's the time to get one of those games out of the way.

I really like that idea for the 100th anniversary. With the Sebo complete, I really think we could set up some sort of arrangement with any of the following teams:

Pitt, Virginia Tech (already going there before 2010).. Louisville, Syracuse, Clemson, Maryland, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern...... just to name a few

Who would you guys like to see?

What about a home/away with Cincinnati. An in-state school in the Big East, yet completely beatable. Have we ever even played them before?

I am nearly positive that I read recently that we are no longer playing Va. Tech. Does anyone else remember seeing this somewhere?

Back in the late '80s and early '90s, we seemed to play Cincinnati fairly regularly. I know they came to the Doyt at some point too. For some unknown reason, I can still recall the one Bearcat's DB name: Jocelyn Borgello.

We had a couple of home-and-homes starting about 1990 -- I believe one of our home ends ended up in Riverfront Stadium; I could be wrong.

We went 4-0. The last meeting was 1994: Bowling Green 38, Cincinnati 0.

How about Delaware or Southern Illinois ... [pause for dramatic effect and to give people the chance to slam a I-AA opponent] ... both were opponents during the 1959 season when BG won the College Division National Championship.

I saw BG knock off Cinci at Riverfront Stadium in 1990. Their on campus Nippert Stadium was getting renovated. Playing the Bearcats would be a bit of a yawner if you ask me since we have played them
BG UC
10/1/1994 @ Cincinnati (2-8-1) W 38 0
9/11/1993 vs. Cincinnati (8-3) W 21 7
9/21/1991 vs. Cincinnati (4-7) W 20 16
9/2/1990 vs. Cincinnati (1-10) W 34 20 @ Riverfront

It appears all four games were one-for-ones.

I'd much rather go afte a more 'exotic' team, especially for the 2010 game.

Another ooc though that could be good would be Fresno State. They had a one-for-one with Toledo, plus we have a bit of a history with them. . . .

I agree. We should "go big" for 2010. Hosting Minnesota in 2008 is a good start.

I was in Miami (OH) a few years back when they hosted Iowa. If they can pull in Iowa (I consider a quality Big Ten school). I'm sure we could get someone comparable if we present our 100th anniversary to them.

I'd like to see a BCS team at the Doyt for the 100th anniversary.
