Our PA announcer....
Ignorance and voice quality (especially voice quality) make me think the PA announcer should find something else to do on game day. Why does he make frivelous announcements --- especially during heated moments of the ball game??? And I might add that the volume of the whole public address system is too, too loud, almost ear shattering. ---- Overall, this whole aspect of the game is distracting, negative.

I second that...please, bring back the previous announcer. Or how about the Freak in the booth? I announced my son's games this year and couldn't do any worse. At least I know the players' names.Ornithologist wrote:The guy is just horrible. We need somebody a little more enthusiastic than some Ben Stein clone. I don't think he could get excited about BG if he was on fire. He's had 3 chances. Somebody show him the door.
Mr Krebs? What do you say?

I know you know all the names & numbers but i'm not sure you have the enthusiasm we are all looking for...........Oh what the heck. You couldn't be any worse than the present guy. Just kidding. You might be just what we are looking for.
Mr. Krebs? You listening?

Freak, I really could see you doing that but I think there would be a problem. You'd have to keep your cool during bad calls and not yell at the refs over the speaker system. Is that possible?
Really though, that would be quiet funny!

WHAT, we have here is......failure to communicate.
How about we up the price of tickets five bucks, give everybody a personal radio, and let folks listen to the game on the radio.
*waits for somebody to pickup on the obvious comment now setup.*

The wind most certainly has an effect on the sound. It was MUCH louder on the east side than the west side.......I walked over to find out.
I think it is another of those things that need tweaked, but at least we could hear it, as opposed to the old system. I agree ......it was LOUD on the east side!!!

I loved listening to Dave Horger call BG basketball games on the radio..."Anthony Stacey runs it up and in!" I always felt he was entertaining to listen to. I would give Dave the nod over the current PA guy we are using anyday!
BTW, who in the heck is the current PA guy we have and where in the world did we find him? Or should I say, how did we get stuck with him!?

HE IS JUST PLAIN BORING..
that announcer is boring and it is hurting the game atmosphere. If the atmosphere suffers, attendance will also suffer. Students will go to a football game simply for the fun and they don't have to understand the game. Enthusiasm is generated based on the atmosphere. The minute he opens his mouth, the atmosphere takes a deep dive into boredom. He needs to announce "first down", "touchdown", "interception", "fumble recovery", or anything that is resembles a great play with some energy and excitement. This gets fans involved and makes others want to be a part of it. Many of our fans are sitting there bored and begging for some excitement and the cannon can't do it all by itself.
With all the complaining about this guy, does anyone actually know him or said anything to the athletic department about him? Maybe if we pick a day to all send a letter of complaint in, a couple hundred letters will hit the athletic department and they might consider getting a new one!
