The two young kickers have taken a shelling here, but today they earned quite a bit of love, IMO. Rojas with a 37 yard average, a 63 (!) yarder and four of five punts fair caught and four of five inside the 20. Great job Alonso!
Big Bird also came on and nailed the short FG attempt and hit all the ones he was supposed to. Good work guys!

Before the game I heard a kid behind me talking trash about Rojas. I quickly told him so stuff it because he had no clue what he was talking about. It was good to be able to turn around and give him a 'told you so' look after that monster punt down to the 5.

And I think another note is in order that one of his punts was from the EMU36 and another from the BG49, so there was no "booming" necessary... and he handled the job excellently!Tricky_Falcon wrote:Coach said after the game it was nice to finally be able to allow Rojas to boom it down the field and not have to worry about the return men.

When the punters were warming up right in front of us before the second half, I was thinking Wright was looking better than Rojas. He was getting some nice spirals and his punts were deeper and higher than Rojas' were. Then it suddenly became clear that Rojas was practicing going for the corner with his first kicks when he suddenly kicked the heck out of the next several in a row.
What I'm still trying to find out is, who made that SWEET hit on one of our kickoffs? I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, and I couldn't tell who it was from where we were sitting.

I believe it was Kenny Lewis.able1 wrote:What I'm still trying to find out is, who made that SWEET hit on one of our kickoffs? I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, and I couldn't tell who it was from where we were sitting.
