As noted by the chronology listed by UK that statement carries truth with it.MatelaAntwerp wrote:"Ohio State has never been beaten by a Mid-American Conference team. OSU is 9-0 vs. the MAC with a 4-0 mark vs. Ohio, 2-0 records against Bowling Green and Miami, respectively, and a 1-0 record vs. Toledo."
From a game preview 1999 of OSU
all bowling green

I think you are on the right track UK, but off just a bit. I think OSU made an effort to play an in-state school every year. That would include Cincinnati, not just the six MAC schools. And I guess Youngstown State now as well.UK Peregrine wrote:Starting in 1997 with BG, OSU has made a effort to play at least one MAC team a year,

yeah, ohio state tries to play as many instate teams as they can in their OOC games. and with the abundance of MAC teams in ohio, they'll almost always end up with a MAC school on their schedule.
playing the instate schools is sort of their way of sharing the wealth. instead of paying $600K to buffalo or temple, they give it to BG, toledo, kent, etc...
