The "We are Marshall" Movie.....
Maybe I'm naive , but why is there a major movie about the Marshall Thundering Turd football team?

It's centered around the plane crash that killed all/most of their football team in the 1970's.

Oh, I see. Sheesh , thats gotta be a pretty darn sad and dreary movie then.TG1996 wrote:It's centered around the plane crash that killed all/most of their football team in the 1970's.
Don't think I'll be seeing it, I like my movies to give me more upbeat vibes.

Falconboy ... I understand your point with attending movies
I like to go to comedies that make me laugh. Michelle and I just went to see Man Of The Year over the weekend with Robin Williams. We'll go see the We Are Marshall movie because I like movies that are about real events. You are correct, though, that it will probably be a tear-jerker, at least in the beginning. I think the movie will be more about the aftermath of the crash then it will be about the crash. I think it's more about what Marshall accomplished after that tragedy.

Not to ruin the ending for anybody, but the felon ends up getting the $25/hour janitor's job and gets to stay on the team.BGSU99 wrote:I think the movie will be more about the aftermath of the crash then it will be about the crash. Clarification?
I thought he initially signed with the Minnesota Vikings and because he played when he wanted to play was traded to the Oakland Raiders where he just does his thing without any worries because he likes California living.TG1996 wrote:Not to ruin the ending for anybody, but the felon ends up getting the $25/hour janitor's job and gets to stay on the team.

Yeah, Million Dollar Baby was like that , a REAL tear-jerker of a movie. It was so frickin sad at the end that movie , I felt like killing my self. Excellent acting throughout but just too sad for my liking.BGSU99 wrote:I like to go to comedies that make me laugh. Good Lord, Falconboy, if you must take leave of this life be jolly sure you give my butler the keys to your drinks cabinet first, and have my head gamekeeper tidy up that Winchester when you're done with it before he gives it to Macman.falconboy wrote:It was so frickin sad at the end that movie, I felt like killing my self.
Don't know what in blazes you ever saw in that worthless 12 bore. Absolutely worthless. Can't beat a Purdy, you know.
