should probably be the starter. I'd like to see what he can do getting the starters reps in practice and some preparation.. He hasn't done too badly getting thrown out there in the second half of games we're losing.

I totally agree. This should have happened a couple of games ago, in my opinion. I hope it does now.

If Sheehan starts, will that be the end of the QB draw up the middle? Can Sheean run? Or is he more of a pocket guy?

He looked like a pocket guy against Kent State, but it looked like he had enough mobility to buy extra time when needed. It will be interesting to see how he performs (assuming that he starts) with an entire week of practice and first team reps. He threw a couple picks on Saturday and took a couple sacks. Hopefully he can cut down/eliminate those things this weekend.

He has some mobility, but he is definately a pocket passer type of player.

Agreed.

The biggest thing right now is accuracy, or lack thereof. Sheehan was 12-20, which is not bad considering the circumstances. Give him a full week of practice with the 1's and see what happens.

The RB's also averaged 6 yards a carry, so leaning on them a bit more heavily might not be a bad idea.

It says a lot about Sheehan's ability that this discussion is even being had. Everyone's patience is understandably thin at this point, but this freshmen class has unbelievable potential.

I'd like to see Sheehan get the start as well. As he got comfortable out there he looked like he was making reads and progressions. There was a slant to Partridge on the left side that comes to mind showing his nice timing. I think he has enough mobility to be good back there when he needs to get out and tuck it.

Freak & I sat at the top of the stadium during the preseason scrimmage, and our observation was that Sheehan was far & away the most comfortable QB at running our offense. He was the only one that seemed to drop back, make the read, and deliver the ball. He has a ways to go yet, but my observations during that scrimmage were that he was already our best passer.

The kid seems like a good athlete, and he does have some mobility, but he's not going to be running 10-15 times either. I would liken his mobility to more like what Jacobs had...can buy some time, but isn't going to be breaking off many 20 yarders.

At this point, I think you really have to give Sheehan a start or two and see what happens. Turner has shown no development whatsoever in his time as a starter, I want to see what Sheehan can do with the full week to prepare as the starter and an entire game to work with. I don't expect much, he's a true freshman afterall, but if he could make some plays that could be enough to put us over the top. The Turner-led offense has been almost devoid of big plays.

Did we run any of these Saturday? I didn't listen to all of the game (other commitments, thank God), but I don't remember Turner running at all when he was in there and he had only 3 carries. But those may have come on option plays. I am not trying to sound like a hypocrite, because I said for weeks now that Bullock needed to get 30 carries a week. But the QB keeper still needs to be run occasionally to keep the defense honest, just not 25 times a game like when Barnes was in there.

There's been some real bright spots this season...Bullock has emerged, Barnes is a Magneresque threat, the freshmen have given the defense a real boost and the oline has been very good.

Apart from our abysmal special teams play, AT's lack of development at QB has to be the biggest disappointment of the year. He's been here three years now and he still doesn't get our offense.

I really thought he had a chance to be the next great BGSU QB.

I had such high hopes for AT. I really wanted him to be the next great BG QB. But, as others have said, it appears AT just hasn't gotten a grasp of the offense. I feel badly for him but Sheehan deserves to start and show what he can do with the 1st team.

Personally, I hope we don't burn the redshirt on Glaud at this point in the season. I'd be happy to let Sheehan take over or just let Turner try to gain some confidence. I don't want Glaud to lose a year at the end of a disappointing season, ala Josh Harris.

this is after all a rebuilding season, if we dont move the pieces around, its just wasted.

I have a great idea to go along with this...lets try a punt formation that might actually work...no...that is far to crazy an idea.
