For the past few days I've been drinking the homemade pumpkin ale.

Nothing says fall to me like a nice cold glass of pumpkin beer :)
Did you make it? Could you post the recipe.
Could you bring it to Akron?
From the halls of ivy...

It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Did I make it? Yes.

Could I post the recipe? I don't remember it off the top of my head, so I'll post it when I get home and can look through my notes.

Could I bring it to Akron? Yes.

Will I bring it to Akron? No, I will not be attending the game. Sorry. I really need to get some stuff done around the house, and quite frankly I don't feel like making the 3-4 hour round trip to watch this team play anymore. If we were a good team, I'd go out of my way to attend, but at this point I think I'm done attending BG games this year. I may find myself at the Glass Bowl in November, we'll see.

Pumpkin Ale Recipe:

12# Pale 2-Row
2# 60L Crystal
1.5# Cara-Pils (Dextrine) Malt
1# Rice Hulls (may want to use more, mash was VERY sticky)
2 large cans of Libby Pre Pumpkin

I mashed that at about 154* for 60 minutes. Used 2 batch sparges to get the volume up to about 7 3/4 gallons of wort.

I went with a 90 minute boil. The first 30 minutes nothing was added.

1 oz. East Kent Goldings for 60 minutes in the boil.
2 lb. light brown sugar for 15 minutets in the boil
2 Tbsp pumpkin pie spice for 15 minues in the boil
3 cinnamon sticks for 15 minutes in the boil
1 Tbsp irish moss for 15 minutes in the boil.

I used WLP002 English Ale Yeast.

Original Gravity: 1.072
Final Gravity: 1.015
IBU: 12.8
