I just want them to move the Doyt about 200 or so miles southwest.

Is that too much to ask?

I pretty much go to every event that I can possibly make since:

1.) I'm in the Falcon Marching Band
2.) I know people who are playing in the athletic bands
3.) I know people on the team
4.) I know some of the cheerleaders.

Not only that it is a very vocal concept for those of us in the FMB to try to get those new in the FMB involved with the athletics on campus: hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, etc. but we also try to let these people have a good time and feel comfortable going to them by having as many familiar faces there as possible.

Also, I dont think a lot of the people on campus are aware of the fact that they can get into these games FOR FREE! The concept of having free admission is a double-edged sword. The idea that its free so it must not be any good can come into mind. I think the free concept is awesome! I love being able to go to the games by just showing my id.

Also, I think a huge factor in the attendance this weekend was that it was halloween weekend, and face it, there are a lot of partiers on campus. If BG had a huge pre-game event where people could go and have a fun time then go on over to the football game, that might help. I don't know.

In short:

I got nothin.

Why is there no option for **nothing, I go to everything already!**? Once again like everyone has already said, we are preaching to the choir here. Most people on this site attend every home or away event it can. Maybe we need to form an Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com Street Crew to hit the streets of BG and get people off this site and around campus/the city involved. I would be up for it!

I physically can't go to many more events. I go to almost all football, home and away, all home basketball and some away, most hockey, most baseball home and away, some softball, some volleyball, one soccer game per year ( )sorry, that's all I can handle, and maybe one gymnastics meet.

I'd suggest adding another selection for feedback on suggestions. I think there needs to be some type of promotion that students will benefit from. The key is to get students to the game. Having an announcer that adds game excitement can also help. There are many fans that don't truly understand football, so they need enthusiasm. I don't care what the athletic department says, but doing things like announcing "First Down" gets the crowd fired up or showing replays of "questionable calls", etc. They need to look into ways to add to the atmosphere by using the scoreboard monitor and speakers. Do something comical on the board. Put highlights with music on the board. But bottom line, change the atmosphere to make students feel like it's the place to be. That boring announcer does nothing to help create an atmosphere of fun.

Yeah I go to everything I can anyway, and even though tickets arent too costly, they add up for a college student. So i went with lower tix cost.

Saxy,
Well, we'll see what happens THIS week...Family weekend, "FREE" thunderstix to 1st 10,000 ( if we get that many)... "FREE" t-shirts to 1st 500 students ( Why not to ALL?)... but you're point about a PREGAME event for students is a solid idea...Why don't you talk to band directors about possible connections that could lead to either a pre or POST game concert, especially for the ealier games? It can't hurt to ask.

Marketing our product has been a topic of discussion many times before...I only hope we don't have to have another change of coaches etc. to make people wake up... probably wouldn't anyway. On another thread, I mentioned the regional alum groups sponsoring trips to BG (Bus) to see the games LIVE instead of just "watch parties".... Can't believe that younger alums in particular couldn't go to the UT game, even on a Tues. nite, if they knew they'd be bused both ways.
