Packers GM Ted Thompson: ""Obviously, we follow our divisional opponents pretty hard in pre-season. He runs the ball hard. He will play quick and fast. He's aggressive. He catches the ball well. He had quite a résumé in terms of production in college."

Sounds pretty good for P.J.

More positive news on P.J. from his first practice session with the Pack.

"He's (Pope) an explosive young man, has a nice run style and he puts his foot down," Head coach Mike McCarthy said. "He has a one-cut mentality, which is what we're looking for in our run game. He was pretty stout in the pass protection today in our blitz drills, so I was impressed with him for his first day of practice."

There's a decent chance Pope will be active on Sunday at Buffalo, but he's the clear-cut No. 3 running back behind Ahman Green and Noah Herron and might be used only in an emergency because of his limited knowledge of the zone-blocking running scheme.

From the Packers official site...
Ready if needed
Running back P.J. Pope, signed this past week, will be active for Sunday's game as the No. 3 running back behind Green and Noah Herron, McCarthy said.

Pope has had very little time to learn the playbook, but McCarthy said if he's pressed into emergency duty, he'll be ready.

That's a good sign for Pope. Hopefully he gets a little play time in and doesn't screw things up too bad with the "new" playbook
