Outcome for the weekend

Post by bigdog »

I know that BG has sucked against LSSU in the past. But I am going out on a limb to say that BG will split this weekend. I think they will be able to pull one of the two games out. I think a sweep is a little out of reach consdiering how they have played up to now and also that LSSU is usually a very physical and dirty team. BG has a lot of young players that haven't seen the hockey that they will be playing this weekend. That is why I would realisticly a split is the best outcome for the weekend. Hope the boys prove me wrong and win both.

You know if you just put that in your signature you won't have to type it every time.

There's a battle story in there somewhere. Care to elaborate? I would love to hear about it.

Oh, and I'm cool with you putting "sack Pooch" in your siggy.

A split is a possibility, but I'm not terribly confident at this point in the season. The lads had a very good showing down in Oxford so i'm hoping to be proved wrong.

Ah. Very good.

Now that everyone knows where you stand, we can talk about the game of hockey.........and any war stories you have from playing Lake Superior. :-D

Lake State

Post by freddiethefalconBG »

Yeah, Lake State was always a gritty team to play against. I do not know how they are this year but they were always the kind of team that if you did not come to play a gritty game they will beat you. If BG wants to pull out two wins this weekend than they have to be ready to come out and play real hard and physical. As long as you match the physical game with Lake State they are a very beatable team. Hopefully Pooch does not tire his team out this week in practice the way that he always does, becaus they will need all their energy. Physical weekends are always the toughest and the most draining on the body.

Also going in to a weekend like this we should have a sweep on our minds. I f we can not go and sweep these teams than we will be a bottom of the barrel team again. I wish the boys luck and hope they do well.

THIS is the kind of great pre-game discussion we need!!! Thanks bigdog and freddiethefalconBG!!! You guys bring VALUABLE experience and a side of the game we don't hear enough about. Any other players out there want to contribute their views of the upcoming series with the Lakers? We welcome your comments!!!

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEEEEEEEP THE LAKERS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

A split is a reasonable assertion this weekend...

Post by FalconBlue »

A split is a reasonable assertion for this weekend and we will definitely miss James Unger this weekend with his tough play. We have more than our share of “powder puffs” that will have to step up and get things done.
My guess is that Eddie Neville will play Friday and Spratt on Saturday. Lake Superior State has not been tested so far this year so I think we have a chance.

We split, and if we win the first night we have the strong potential of taking that momentum to a sweep.
The lakers used be a good physical team and in the "Day" 70's early 80's we would beat the crap out of them, its been their turn lately. but I must also point out that while BG has not been the physical force we once were, our team is geting faster and smarter. A lot smarter this year, and faster than last.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know as much about hockey as I should, but I'd have to say I expect a split as well.

It's not often I admit a possibility of BG losing a game (in ANY sport), but a split seems very possible this weekend. We've gotten plenty of offensive chances so far, we just haven't been able to finish them. One or two of those bouncing our way and we could have a great showing.

A quick run over LSSU's schedule showed me a 5-1 win over (#12) Clarkson. If that was a fluke win, I'm not worried, but it's difficult to win by 4 on a fluke.

I hope the Falcons go out and prove me wrong and make a statement with a sweep, but I'm thinking a split is much more likely.

Hockey comes down to drive and who wants it more. That being said, this is the first home series against a CCHA team, and I would expect nothing less than our boys to come out fired up both nights and play a hard but responsible game against the Lakers. I hope the students come out to support the team this weekend as well, they played hard last weekend in Oxford and they are an exciting young team that can only go up from here.

Here's to a BG sweep this weekend, I'll see all you crazies in the student section on Friday!

But we should still drop to DIII, though, right? You know, because we haven't had a NC since 1984, right?

Hey Macman

Post by freddiethefalconBG »

Macman, you like to run your mouth with stupidity, don't you?

I did not play on the team last year, however i can tell you that none of the guys that played last year are like that. They all have heart and a character that is much greater than anything that you could ever understand. stop blaming the players. My impression of you is that you are some *** that thinks he is tough with your talk about guns and all your other nonsense. The reality of it is you are all talk on a computer screen and you have NO clue what you are talking about when it comes to hockey.

Guess what Macman. Pauluch is the worst coach in the world and BG will never be a strong team until he is gone. That's the reality and the truth and i can not wait for him to get fired so i can laugh my ass off at how much of a retard you are. Maybe then you will shut up Gun boy.

I wish i ran into you one day because i would take your gun and shuv it right up your ass. That's if you even own one!

Stop being jealous because you have no athletic abilityDon't be jealous of us because we had the chance to be D1 athletes and have our educations paid for and than go and play pro hockey and become far more successful than you will ever be. So zip it!
