The Akron game was the middle game for my Falcon sports weekend, being sandwiched between two hockey games. I'm so glad I went to the game because I would have hated to have missed the game. The Falcon faithful game out in good numbers (many thanks to Mrs. Freak for the free tickets!!!) and see so many of the posters there supporting the team. Also I noticed that there were a lot of female Falcon fans there, which I was glad to see...these girls were not just watching but they were cheering and understood the game...ncie to see that.

I really did enjoy the game. The weather was really nice...much better than what it could have been. It was fun to be with the diehard fans, to see how much better the Doyt is than the Rubber Bowl (like why did they block off the seats in the end zone...the tarps look funny), and to hang out with Freddie Falcon (way to beat up Zippy!). By the way, I apologize if I was in any one's way...I was the blonde girl with orange visor and orange knee socks in the front row that stood for the whole game.

The team struggled throuhgout the day. The defense was not tackling as well as they have in the past, and I greatly missed seeing big hits from Dozier, Briggs, and Parks. The offense did better than they have at other times in the season, but there were still a lot of overthrown passes, dropped passes (man Freddie could not keep the ball), and missed receivers. It seemed like Turner normally had decent time to throw, but did not see the receivers (by the way, I think I was a few rows in front of Turner's mom....she is a diehard Falcon fan....she kept cheering and yelling and it was great to see her involved in the game).

As for the O-line, I know we were missing one starter. Drew Nystrom was not there, and I had not heard why. My sister, who was at the game, has organic chemistry with him (poor guy) and has not seen him since Monday. I hope everything is okay with him.

The reffing was ridiculous. The fumble recovery was a bunch of crap. Offensive pass interference....ridiculous. Granted I couldn't see the play, but my personal feeling was that they did not want us to win or go into overtime. Now it's time to move on and beat Miami and Toledo!
GO FALCONS!!

Guess what guy you can just say tied at seven.

He sounds like a nasally Seinfeld.

I just want to have him cuss while they are on a break.

Also, I wish they would have reviewed that second Akron td.
That "announcer" would be the one and only (thank God) Steve French. I don't know who's worse...French or Bill Needle on the Kent network. French's voice is absolutely horrible. He is ALWAYS complaining about calls that go against Akron...always. It gets old very quickly. Jackass.
