OSU v. Michigan Times 2?

OSU streamrolled Minny today and Michigan got by NW by 2 TD's. Also, USC lost and Auburn struggled. I don't care what West Virginia does against Louisville (without 2 U of L WRs) or Rutgers, the best two teams in college football are Ohio State and Michigan. Unless one team beats the other by 20 points or more on 11/18, those two teams should be playing for the BCS championship in January.

It'll never happen, but unless Florida starts straight steamrolling teams, I don't see any reason why it should.

Michigan's defense is flat-out disgusting, and OSU's offense is doing everything they were hyped to do.

I can't believe it would actually play out that way. Long way to go for the SEC, USC still has to play ND (and vice versa), Texas is clearly flawed, WVU is a threat (sad). Could happen, but unlikely.

Seems like it is most likely with Michigan getting a very close win over OSU? What do others think?

That seems most likely to me. Hang a loss on Louisville, WVU, Texas, Auburn, and Florida, and I think this might just happen. No way any pollster jumps ND ahead of Michigan.

OSU is still a better team than Michigan, but it's a lot closer than I thought it was 6 weeks ago. This is going to be one hell of a game. I hope both teams are at full strength for it.

Remember when Nebraska got blown out by Colorado in the last game of the regular season about 5 or so years ago? They didn't even play in the Big 12 title game, but ended up #2 in the BCS rankings and played for the national title.

It could happen, especially if UM beats OSU and WVU doesn't win out.

Oklahoma limped in the national title game in a similar manner a couple few years ago when they lost the Big 12 championship.

It is painful for me to say but it is absurd how good OSU has played this season. They would be 9-0 right now even if their offense stunk.

The only way that Michigan and OSU would play twice this year is if Louisville and Rutgers both lose, Florida and Tennessee lose again, and Texas loses again. I don't see USC anywhere near the picture by the time the season ends, but I do see Cal in the picture. They are the best team in the Pac 10 this year, and their only loss is at Tennessee the first game of the year, along with USC still on the schedule. While I do agree from what I've seen, OSU and UM are probably the two best teams in the country, the fact that one team is going to lose their last regular season game is going to hurt them in the BCS.

Personally, I think OSU is gonna roll UM by at least 3 td's. As much as I hate to say it, OSU is the best team in College Football by a mile this year. Heck, I think they could beat the Raiders.

I think OSU's a better team, but I don't think it's by that much. The way Michy runs the ball and stops the run, I don't think anybody is really going to blow them out.

There is one factor that will determine the outcome of that game. Can Michigan keep Troy Smith contained in the pocket and sack him a few times instead of letting him escape and make positive plays outside the pocket. If they do, they have a chance to win. If they don't, they lose. I think it'll be just that simple.

It was fun to watch both teams look ahead and sleepwalk through victories today though.

If OSU's OL plays like they did today UM's front 7 will eat them for lunch.

Honestly, I think UM's defense is top notch, the kind that can change games. Generally I bet on the teams like UM in these sorts of matchups. The sexy offensive team that will likely be a TD favorite, or possibly more, against the gritty grind it out and play defense team.

The grind it out defensive teams usually make it very close or come away with a win.

Unfortunately for UM I think the game being in the 'shoe and Tressel -vs- Carr is worth about 5 or 6 points, and that will be enough to have them win, IMO. I definitely think this game will be closer than most of the world believes, however.

One thing I'm curious of is how good either of these teams really are. Each has played only one good team (Texas & ND), which the both beat pretty handily. Other than that though the Big10 is just TERRIBLE this year, every week seems like another cupcake for both of these guys.

Classic case overlooking their opponent, and nothing more. That defense has been damn good all year, I tend to believe yesterday was an anomaly.

That's like saying OSU's offense sucks because they "only" put up 17 points yesterday. Redonkulous.

I still feel OSU's defense is their strength. They lose that game on Saturday without the defense shutting down Illinois for 3 quarters. The defense has shown up in all ten games this season. The offense has disappeared a couple times.
