GREAT AD HOC BAND!

Post by Rightupinthere »

5-6 trumpets and one clarinet for kindling. Y'all sounded GREAT!

I was very close to brining the mello with me - but why would I want to drag down that group!

THANK YOU!

Agreed! I was at the Kent State game last year when ya'll did it and loved it. I was glad to see you do it again. I was there with my sister and her boyfriend (a clarinet and alto sax) and we were all like, we should have had brought ours and added a more woodwind sound. I'm glad we didn't though...ya'll did a great job.

Funny band moment: after the announcer said they were playing our beloved fight song, their band launched into something that was not Forward Falcons, but a weird intro. I was standing next to FMBfan07 and the afroementioned bandies and we could not figure out what it was. Who knew that we had a different intro to the fight song other than Fanfare? And it made us laugh when they held out the ending note for too long.
GO FALCONS!!

I thought they held on to the note longer in order for their mellophone section to catch up to the rest of the band.

I don't believe they were too impressed with that song.

And that is the first time I have EVER heard a college marching band play an introduction to the Star Speckled Banana. How GHASTLY!

I've seen that fanfare printed at the top of the music we played in high school. NO ONE ever played it though. After hearing it I have absolutely no regrets about that either.
Yeah right girl!
