He's been limited in both the Temple and Akron matches, anyone have an insight?

Yeah, he has a bad ankle and is very limited in how much he can play.

According to Brandon on 1470 yesterday Barnes has a bad ankle sprain. He cannot run at full speed and he cannot change directions anywhere close to how he normally can.

He said that it has taken a lot of their packages out of their offense because they wanted to run some direct snap runs with Freddie, but he is not healthy enough to go full out. He did mention that Turner is healing up a bit and they ran some of those plays with him at QB, and it was nice to see him respond with 100+ yards on the ground.

Freddie was very gimpy the few times he touched the ball against Akron. It would be nice to have him back against Miami and Toledo. We can win both of those games with him in the lineup.

It's tough without arguably your best weapon. No dig at any other players on the O but we definitely need FB on the field. Sigh

It's a tough break, but inevitable given how easy it was to predict that a draw was coming when he lined up in the shotgun.
