and this person would hopefull be the retard who developed the gay new logo, which is infact the reason for our rotton lot in life this year. I am thinking that after looking some more..our colors are now oragne and black...no brown...or is it "navy brown"?

I am calling the student out on this...
why? I believe that if students at this level are more the lifeblood for these things than alum...I would think it would be easy to have over 50% of the student come to blody football game, far away easier i would think to get them in the seats (since they are here after all) than alumni, or folks in the comuntiy.

The best thing out of this season is that Borat didn't stop in BG while making his movie....

We're not moving down. It's not even a point of argument. It's a documented fact. Captain conspiracy will just have to settle.

From what I heard at a Dance Marathon meeting tonight, it sounds like the Office of Campus Involvement is giving the organization with the most members there $1,000. I do not know details to know if this is a percentage of members or if it is the largest number total. I also do not know how they would count people who are in multiple organizations (especially people who are in band). It sounds like they are trying to get as many students there as possible.

"Satellite alum groups"

Post by Class of 61 »

Just got an email from the Cleve. alum group, inviting me to the "watch party", to be held IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MIAMI ALUM GROUP, at the Winking Lizard in Independence...(also an invite to the UT watch party following week)....

My response?....in essence, "I've made this suggestion several times...why don't you organize a BUS TRIP to BG for the game, rather than sitting in a bar?" It's fallen on deaf ears in the past, so I don't expect anything different this time....but, with the Cleve.,Lorain,Summit, Columbus and Cincy chapters all doing the same thing(the watch party thing), is it not reasonable to assume that at LEAST 5 buses could've brought 250+ people MORE to the game? Add in the Mich. chapters etc. and we COULD HAVE had 500+ more people with decent promotion....reason for my suggestion re: buses? If you have to go to work the next day, sleep on the bus on your way home...probably home by midnite or so anyway, so how much sleep have you lost?

maybe they are looking for someone to organize the trip? Its easy to be upset, but if you don't take the initiative of going then what does it matter?

Time to get your hands dirty!

FWIW,

I "volunteered" a couple of years ago to do something like this...it was after they had a "watch party" for the KSU -BG basketball game AT KENT; it was held in TWINSBURG, only about 15 miles or so from Kent. I was told they'd "get back to me".....has NEVER happened...... So I did volunteer to get my "hands dirty" as you recommended! It seems that the CLEVE. chapter, at least, has little, if any interest, in going back to campus for such things....much different than it was about 15 yrs. ago, when we would do b-ball, hockey "double-headers" via bus trips.

"Greg Christopher, Bowling Green's athletics director, said Friday he doesn't anticipate any problems reaching that number."

I'm happy to see he has confidence we will make it, but I wish he would keep that to himself. I don't want his confidence to be a reason some people think "oh, they are gonna make the number without me, so I don't need to go".

And I knew there was really three attendance numbers! Actual, Paid, and Announced. That is just way too confusing. I still don't get how the student attendance works? I know they "pay" with the General Fee or whatever, but it seems like you are mixing counting methods by counting 'actual' students, but 'paid' tickets for everyone else.

Oh well, I just hope we make the 22,000 number so I can stop trying to figure it all out. :D

Planning to boost attendance for the 2007 season has already started. The Falcons are currently scheduled to have home games with Florida International, Boise State and four MAC games in 2007.

"You can blame a lot of reasons and throw out a lot of excuses, but at the end of the day, I think that's what they are: excuses. We just need to do a better job of getting people in the seats," Christopher said. "When people say `How do you fix attendance at Bowling Green?' I don't think it's a short-term issue. It's really a broader, culture issue.

"There is a fundamental difference between ticket marketing and ticket selling," he added. "Over the last few years, I'm guessing we've done a nice job of marketing our tickets and we need to continue to do that. But we've also got to get out in front of people and actually sell tickets."

This is what quality leaders of men say. Bravo.

So far, I like what I'm hearing from our new AD.
