Does anyone have any insights on hotels that may be available in Westerville or the surrounding area? I'll likely be flying solo, so I'm hoping that some of my Falcon brothers and sisters to be there! Not to mention Mitch and his family!

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am for Mitch to be coming home. I'll be seeing him return about a week before I see another friend of mine off to Iraq. My God bless and keep them all.
There's a ton of good hotels on and around Polaris Parkway right off of I-71 and 5 min from US23. My family lives about a minute from there and that area is usually where we have our relatives stay when they come to town. Here is a link to some information about hotels available in that area. I don't know what might be available closer to the actual church, but it's a start.

I will. Admittedly, I had no idea where Westerville was in relation to, well, anything...

Westerville: keep going east on Polaris and you are in Westerville.
Keep going south on 23 and you are in Worthington.

I'll be polishing off a seminar at 1 on Wednesday literally up the street, but how long do we expect the event to last? Will there be an "after ceremony" event for the assembled well-wishers?

Update for Operation Welcome Home

Post by UtRocketMan »

A quick update for Operation Welcome Home:
The Welcome Home ceremony has been changed to
Thursday, Nov. 9, @ 2:00 p.m. at the same place
We are still trying to get enough people to fill up the bus to make the trip. Hopefully the change will allow some more people to go.
Gladieux Home Center has generously donated to help lower the cost for each rider.
The Andersons General Store wanted to be part of this special homecoming and is supplying snacks for the ride.
Help us show Mitch how much we support what he has done the past 14 months and welcome him home.
If anybody wants to go, call me ASAP 419.270.5337

Whats the cost down too? I'll sponsor somebody if it will get them to go. I live down here, so its not a trip I'd be making.

The change is allowing more people to go. Our niece is a student at BG and can now make the trip. Our plan is to get off at the BG exit and pick her up. We would like to pick up as many as we can there. Imagine the look Mitch will have when he sees the bus full of Family, Friends and Falcons. My 4 kids will be missing school that day to welcome their Uncle home. The cost per person is right around $30. Anyone wishing to help out let me know. Also, send me some pictures, I want to print them out and post them where he will be able to see them when we get there.

UTRocketMan, I will be there, no matter what day this is. If anyone here wants me to take anything to Mitch, please let me know ASAP. PM me and I will give you my adress so you can send me anything that you would like Mitch to have on his return in case you can not make this event for any reason. I am so, so happy to have Mitch home!
