The Real recruiting thread.

Post by Pete Segaard »

Call me crazy but, current Seniors on the football squad would be 2001 or 2002 recruiting class? Would those recruits be from Urban Meyers tenure. Redshirt Sophmore's would be from Coach B's first recruiting class? 3 head coaches in 3 years, wouldn't that kind of be a red flag to maybe keep a few student athletes away from BG? I hope that may be the case and these young recruits that BG has signed the past couple of years may be what we need to turn the program around. Of course all this is from the remblings of a novice BG football fan.

After Louiseville's loss. i'm really pulling for Florida to be #3 in the BCS. I'd love to see Urban Meyer win a National Title over OSU or UM.

Oaklane,
How do you figure on THREE HC's in 3 yrs.? Meyer was succeeded by Brandon, after spending 2 seasons at BG before hopping off to Utah. Some of us have discussed this before...but it seems that the somewhat late departure of Meyer had a MAJOR effect on recruiting that year...hence the fact that there are only 10 seniors to be honored on Sr. Night vs. Miami.

I think that may be what he is trying to say in a way. From the end of Blackney to the start of Brandon, there was a 3 coach swing in 3 years. I think what he was trying to say is that might have also had a negative impact on Brandon's first recruiting class as well. Not just the fact that Meyer went and ran off so quickly but the overall stability of the program may have been questioned. Future players might have been unsure about how long things were going to stay stable.
