Freak,
I've had a ton of crackers & chips find their way into my vehicle too. I get home and unload, and I'm like where the heck did this stuff come from!?!? LOL
Not sure what time I'll be heading out to the tailgate. I don't think I"ll be bringing the fryer, unless someone here really wants me to. My buddy John won't be making this game, so I'm not sure how early I'll be getting there. I don't wanna sit out there by myself, that's for sure.
What sounds good this week guys? We've done deep fried pizza rolls and stuff the last 2 tailgates, we gotta think of something more creative than that!

If you do deep fry Twinkies or candy bars, make sure you freeze them first.Dayons_Den wrote:Have you ever deep fried candy bars or twinkies??
At the Iowa State Fair a few years ago I had a deep fried 3 Muskateers and it was amazing. I"ve also heard deep fried twinkies are quite nice.
I'll be out there by 9 I should think.

wow, just...wow. Sorry if its in poor taste, but man, just get a gun or something and save yourself the pain of a heart attack. Deep fry a candy bar? That has got to be one of, if nto THE, most unhealthy thing on the planet.Dayons_Den wrote:Have you ever deep fried candy bars or twinkies??

...although I spose you could dip it in lard or somethign to make it worse.

I have a recipe at home for the deep fried Twinkies, but I have never tried to make them.
As for deep frying a candy bar, I'm sure its unhealthy, but not that much more unhealthy than the candy bar itself. There is this stigma that deep fried food is bad for you, and it is, but not as bad as everyone wants to believe. If you have your grease hot & clean enough the food doesn't sit in the grease for all that long. It also gets instantly seared on the outside, so it doesn't soak up as much grease.
It may sound dumb, but good deep fried food shouldn't taste greasy. If it doesn't taste greasy, chances are it doesn't have nearly as much grease in it as you would think.

Mushrooms!! Breaded Mushrooms!!! A MUST-HAVE!!!Class of 61 wrote:Hambb,
I know it might be repetitious, but those O-rings were pretty tasty a few weeks ago.... admittedly, the early start might limit us a bit, but those would be pretty good with brats and hot dogs or burgers. 8)

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Okay, guys. Did you want to make real mushrooms & O-rings or did ya want to buy the pre-frozen ones from GFS. Might not be bad to mix up some batter and dip 'em and fry 'em up the old fashioned way
That will depend on the availability of Vidalias though. If you cannot find Sweet Vidalia onions, homemade onion rings suck.
