Lady Falcons beat Detroit Mercy 68-37!

Post by Falconboy »

Very good game defensively by the ladies. We're wern't world beaters in the offense but it was good enough with our stifiling D. As nice as this win is it really wasn't a real test as to how good we may or may not be as Detroit has been picked last or near last in their conference so they were a team we should've beaten badly.

ND next Monday will be more of a test for sure over Detroit but oddly enough too Notre Dame isn't very highly rated in the Big East as they've been picked last there. So although talent wise ND will be much tougher than Detroit , I'd like to think we should beat them too. Full stats here.

yea good win...everyone contributed

ND though is a different deal...it'll be a hostile environment with a good crowd, plus they have some size to deal with...they're something like 6-4, 6-1, 5-11 at the starting 3 thru 5 positions. We're traditionally struggled with talented tall teams.

Yup -- which is why I was very happy to see two 6-2 girls and a 6-1 girl in next year's recruiting class. We're not in a position yet as a program to get the 6-4 girls out there, but if we can keep hauling in 6-2 talent, we'll dominate the MAC inside.

I think we'll take Notre Dame in the second half. Low scoring game.

I think we can win this game....ND isn't going to be easy, but they have alot of new girls playing in a new "Princeton" offense. We need to keep them from scoring alot in the paint, and we should be fine. The starters at the 3 and 4 are what we need to key in on if we want a victory.

Nice opening win for the Falcons. Anytime you hold a team to 37 points, you're doing well. If we were a bit "off" and still won by 30+ on the road?

ND will be a challenge...but this team is up to any challenge.
