BG-Miami Attendance

Post by Crew Love »

Word has it that signs were posted on campus claiming that we needed 22,000 fans to show up for tonight's game to maintain our status as a Division I football school. Can anyone confirm this?

If so, I'm awfully afraid we didn't make the quota. Attendance looks absolutely pitiful, via ESPN2's television cameras. Of course, Mother Nature isn't exactly cooperating... :(

on the bgsu athletics website it says we made the attendence requirement

Thanks to the generous support of Falcon fans across the country and the relentless effort of our student body, the BGSU athletic department had sold 22,774 tickets as of this afternoon for tonight's game with Miami.

There were defintley more than 34 people there because at various points I had to kick some of them out of my seats. I am a season ticket holder and I guard those babies like they are my own children. That being said, the crowd sucked, the weather sucked, and yes both teams sucked too! Unfortunately one sucked worse than the other.....

And y'all made fun of Miami for our attendance at the MU-BG game last year. :-P

Anyways, that was an ugly, but good game to watch. At least I liked it. Very exciting end.

As someone who was at that game, I can assure you that we had more fans tonight than we did last year. Secondly, you had almost as many people there tonight as you did last year. More importantly, we still had more fans both times....we'll blame Mother Nature on lack of support in general though.
