Brandon's contract

Post by Warthog »

Here it is: http://images.usatoday.com/sports/graph ... een_fb.pdf

$250,000 buyout. Contract runs through the 2008 season.

This is all courtesy of a story in USA Today. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/graphics ... /flash.htm

Interesting that of the roughly 108 or so Div IA salaries reported, Brandon is the third lowest. And of the 12 salaries not reported, all of them have got to be higher than Brandon's. So we have the third lowest paid coach in I-A football. And that includes all the Sunbelt teams.

At first glance...

1) It's going to be impossible to cash in on that "win the MAC West" bonus.

2) Paul Krebs has a nasty signature.

3) Media $$ bumps up the actual dollar amount, but you can still live a pretty sweet life in BG with that salary. It's tough to place a numerical value on the quality of life offered by BG.

Yes all the wonderous opportunities a city like Bowling Green provides over a city like San Diego or even Cincinnati

Some people, believe it or not, actually like a nice, friendly small town to raise their kids and settle their family.

Bowling Green is a good place to live. There are many equally good places to live where one could make more money coaching football.

Based on salary alone, 5. Total compensatio is 17.

Is this the part where somebody like me reminds us that we get what we pay for especially in this case?

Although, my ideal coach is not named Gregg Brandon, after this season's performance there are bigger fish to fry with employment of Mr.'s Studwara and Lovett, respectively.

Why would you fire Lovett? The defense isn't perfect, but it is the only unit that's been improving, and certainly the only unit to play with any kind of heart and passion this year. Lovett looks like the best coach on our staff right now.

The defense has been the hands down brightest spot in a horrendous season.

250k doesn't really feel like a lot of money to me at this point.

At least we're not overpaying for failure.

The defense has improved, but they really let us down last night I felt. That big pass play should have never happend, especially with that kind of wind and field conditions!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I was disappointed in the pass play for a TD, but we're not going to win many games, if any, only scoring 7 points. I was more disappointed in our special teams and our offense taking the third quarter off when they had the wind at their backs than I was the defense. I thought the defense did the best they could considering they were on the field most of the second half.

Did I read that right in that he gets 20K for his coach's radio show? Man, BG football must move a lot of chicken wings.
