I'm pretty sure our schedule next year is going to consist of the following:

Road Games:
@ Pittsburgh
@ Kent State
@ Buffalo
@ Miami
@ Northern Illinois
@ OOC team to be determined

Home Games:
Boise State
Florida International
Temple
Ohio
Akron
Toledo

If we can get our ducks in a row on STs and D, the way we seemingly are on offense this season

QB Turner
RB Bullock
FB Winovich
WR Partridge
WR Barnes
WR Parks
WR Pronty
TE O'Dbroniak
LT Nystrom
LG Fink
C Lichtensteiger
RG Watson
RT Huelsman

That my firends is an offense capable of winning many games on that schedule. Now we need a coach capable of the same.

All we know for sure (and who knows how accurate this is with the rumors of FIU trying to change at least the date of our game with them).

From the Media Notes for the UT game:

FUTURE SCHEDULES
2007
Sept. 15 FLA. INTERNATIONAL
Sept. 29 BOISE STATE

2008
Sept. 6 MINNESOTA
20 at Wyoming
27 at Boise State

2009
Sept. 12 at Missouri
Oct. 3 WYOMING
THESE ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE

can probably scratch Purdue off the list. Doubt it very much if they'll play 3 MAC teams 3 weeks in a row.

Matela, there are going to be three keys to this being a successful offense in 2007, in descending order.

1.Competent QB play. We've had some of it this year, and haven't had it at other times. Anthony Turner is going to have to play well just to secure the starting role in training camp, and hopefully that gets him going toward a great 2007 season. If it turns out he just isn't the guy, then hopefully Sheehan or Glaud can step up and play well for us. We need the QB spot to be solid again, not necessarily Josh Harris or Omar Jacobs good because we have Bullock in the backfield to take the pressure off, but we still need it to be consistently competent.

2.Pronty/Parks - We really need a strong #2 reciever to emerge behind Partridge and take the pressure off of Corey Partridge. CP has been seeing a lot of double coverage this year since we have no other threats in the wideouts. If Barnes converts fully to WR then maybe he is the guy, but I could see us using him in the backfield at times and at QB down by the goal line as well. Hopefully either Parks can step up, Zach Charles can become a good WR, or Pronty comes in and starts tearing it up as a freshman, because its the only way to free up Partridge aside from running the ball effectively with Bullock.

3.The coaching staff. With so many potential weapons, the coaching staff has to have the faith in these guys to throw the ball deep, call the occasional WR reverse or HB option pass with Barnes. None of this QB dive crap that we saw a lot of this year unless its a short yardage situation. If you are calling QB draws back to back to back, its a sign that you have no faith in your QB and you need to change QBs. Let's hope that Gregg Brandon and his staff call the right plays and strategize in a way that we can be successful in 2007. I'm not sure that we did that this year.

I would hope that by next year, Barnes would be acclimated enough to be our #2 receiver.

So we possibly could move the Florida International game later in the season and take the Auburn game that Temple vacated. That would give us a 6-6 home/road schedule?

Home = OU, Akron, UT, Northern Ill., Fla Int'l, Boise.
Away= Miami, Kent, Buffalo, Eastern Mich, Pitt, Auburn?

I need to start planning my road-trips now!

See everyone tonight. BEAT TOLEDO!

It's Clemson, and in my humble opinion that is EXACTLY what we should do!!!

I would love to have 6 home games and 6 away games. I don't care if the majority of the home games are in the beginning of the season or at the end, I would just love to have the 6 home games period. That would hopefully help w/ attendance issues as well.

I guess after tonights game I can Officially start thinking of next year. I've been fighting the urge since about the KSU game. Anybody want to take a stab at the dates?

It was in the Blade today that our schedule is not finalized, but we expect to open on the road at either Pittsburgh or Minnesota.
