UT Parking

Post by BGGrad01 »

UT posters - my wife and I won't be arriving at the Glass Bowl until 6:45. Can you give me a parking lot where I will be able to get a parking spot quickly? A couple years ago we got there around an hour before kickoff and several of the lots were full. Thanks for any and all help!

hard to judge really cosidering it's UT-BG and classes are also in session. My guesses are possibly at Rocket Hall where Freak and others are tailgating/parking or the parking garage off the bancroft road entrance. For the parking garage get off 475 and go south on secor until Bancroft Rd. Make a left on Bancroft and go down to the main entrance(past the tower). turn in there and you'll see it on the left, and will more than likely be the only place they'll let you park around there.

Parking garage will probably be the best for that late.

I am coming from BG and I am going to take the Douglas Rd. exit.. turn left off the exit and go straight for a mile or so and the basketball arena is around there and also Carter dorms is around there.. I assume there will be parking aroudn those two places.

The two lots at Savage Hall are reserved for season ticket holders and you have to have a pre-sold pass. You could park across the street, just pass the train tracks though. That is general admission. If it is like most games this year, the parking garage off of Bancroft will have spots open.

I think we are only expecting low to mid 20's for crowd so there should be plenty of parking.

PArk in the Rocket Hall lot at Secor and Dorr. You can enter off either street and parking is $5. Its easier to get out after the game from there than it is by the RR tracks IMO. The First National Bank lot on Secor is where I usually park-never been towed and there are uaually spoaces there since everyone assumes you WILL be towed. Free obviously but having shared this nugget you no doubt will get towed so I leave it to your discretion. Visiting fans usually tailgate in the Rocket Hall lot and it sounds like there will be some Falcons there. Good Luck. With parking that is, not with the game! :-D

You cheap bastard!!

There's going to be something like 68 people at the game, so I don't think parking will be a problem.

You must be confused, the game isn't at BG this year. Also, should you really be attempting to take shots at our attendance considering you needed to be bailed out big time?

Ummmm...yeah...your phony attendance average of 19,000 or so is far superior to our phony attendance average of ....whatever the hell number we made up...why do you even bother? We're a joke of a conference so far as fan support goes. We can't even get 15,000 actual people to show up at a majority of our conference games.

But yeah...you sure put me in my place. We needed to do some pretty heavy promotional work to get to our "attendance" marker. You guys are sending out free tickets to random HS kids to pad the crowd for your final game...you guys are just sooooo fricking big time comapred to us...

It's true. The tickets we are using tonight were sent to a friend's daughter, who is senior at Bowling Green High School. They're GM tix, but hey, they're free, so it works for us!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

And you confused Flipper with someone who doesn't know the meaning of sarcasm.

Perhaps you should give the NCAA office a call and share this story with them. I'm sure they'd love to hear it.

Sorry guys, no NCAA violations here. Read the rules. It's only a violation if you are singling out certain people.

Not sure what you are talking about. Everyone likes to crack on Toledo and say they make up their attendance numbers because our official seating capacity is listed at 26,248. However, in reality we seat right about 30K. Everyone hears our attendance and guesses we are always inflating the numbers by 4-5K when we really aren't.

I didn't say anything about UT doing this because I think we may have done the same thing last week. I saw a fairly large number of individuals with Toledo Woodward (I think) jackets on at last week's BG/Miami game. Anybody know if we gave tickets to local high schools or did all of the donated tickets go to non-profits?
