OK, I'm totally embarassed

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I was going to try very, very hard to not post anyting that I would regret tonight, but the simple fact of the matter is that there is little that I will regret saying after tonight. What a total embarassment - a whole team of players who (minus one) had no clue what this rivalry means, a coaching staff who got embarassed by a 5-6 UT team. Were it not for Corey Partridge tonight we get shut-out.

This whole performance was totally, completely and certifiably unacceptable. I, for one, will not have my Alma Mater be represented on national television in such a totally incompetant fashion. This is about more than sports - it is about the national face of our University. When, for the vast majority of people in this country, a football game is the only image of BGSU, to march out there and "perform" the way we did tonight is a pretty crappy impression to leave with people. We are so much better than that and we should expect better than that.

I'm rambling now, so I'll stop, but this has gone so far beyone uacceptable. All I am going to say is that when a coaching staff can't even get a team up for a rivalry game, well...

I challenge everyone here who justifiably feels the same way, to let your feelings be known to the proper authority.

Bitching on this site (not singling you out, Matt, just using you :) ) without letting somebody who can actually do something know about it is akin to pissing into the wind. Let's see -- try and affect some change, or piss on yourself. Tough decision.

Are we allowed to affect change and piss on ourselves? :-D

This team quit during the Temple game and never showed back up the rest of the season. That Temple game was the nail in the coffin for us. We never jumped back and that falls all on coaching.

No I disagree, the nail was the Central MI game. The overall level of competition in the MAC was down this season, everyone is playing true freshman and redshirts.

You wanna know what I'm embarassed about?

Besides our obvious aberration against Ohio, our 3 wins are as follows:

An OT win over Buffal (2-9)

A 3-point win over EMU (1-10)

A 5-point win over FIU (0-10)

Mind you, all of these teams were proclaimed "very good football teams" by our esteemed leader.

That, my friends, is embarassing.

What's that, you want more embarassment?

Against a truly pathetic schedule, we were outscored by an average of 28.3 to 19.5.

Granted we got drilled by Central, but we had a great bounce back game in Temple, whom are in the top 10 worst teams in D1 ball and we flat out quit in that game. We did get a good rally in the end, but it was to late. That's when our season ended.

A 'bounce back' !!!! against a team that hasn't won a game in two years? So I guess we'll need to schedule Duke for 2007 to help them and be the highlight of their season.
