Falconballer wrote:those times are definately not correct. There isnt a single person on the team including dan macon that runs a 4.4 let alone a 4.3. Cory is definately by far the best athlete and player on the team and if he can stay healthy should take a run at sharon/magner/redd's records. However on a good day he would be lucky to run low 4.5's. Just keeping everything in perspective for all of you before you freak out about something that isnt true.

Were you the one with the stop watch? Just wondering...

Well, if its not true then the coaches are handing Corey a line of bull, because that is what they told him his time was when they did their measurements. And Macon was faster than Corey.

Who really cares? He's plenty fast enough to be All-MAC.

That's a good article. I know in HS, Corey's coach 'Hand-timed' him at 4.38 in the 40. That was on the track. Hand timed 40s are all over the place. I still haven't had a chance to as Corey about it. Thanks for posting that.

I really could care less what any football player's 40 time is (within reason).

Corey is tough, athletic, runs great routes, catches almost anything in his zip code, and is a consensus great kid and leader. What the hell do I care if he runs a 4.4 or a 4.6 on a track somewhere? He looks plenty fast in pads.

The article was just an interestingtake on soemthing that is so important that nobody bothers to do it right. Bottom line for me as a Rocket fan is that whatever his time I wish it was about 2 seconds slower. That and to point out that if anyone is looking for a longball type receiver I don't know why thye owuld look any farther-he clearly has plenty of speed, moves and hands. Well, he has the same number of hands as most peopel but he uses them better.

Ok, I finally sorted this out. I talked with Corey.

My apologies, the times he got were 4.43 and 4.48. I was off .1 second. Sorry I guess being a Dad you remember things better than they were.

I suck...We can end this conversation. Of course he did say that Dan Macon ran a 4.3 something and that Dan didn't run the last time they measured. Oh well, still plenty fast enough to get open consistently.

Spart,

Corey is a winner and plays to win EVERY down. I love watching him play and anyone can tell how badly he wants to win. He played a great game.

I look forward to seeing him lead this team back in 2007...anyone (players AND coaches) that doesn't have his enthusiasm, desire, determination and dedication needs to leave that lockerroom now. He is exactly the type of player we need out there. Tough, gritty, smart and willing to do anything and everything to get the job done. That's what it takes to be a champion. I didn't see nearly enough of that on the field in 2006.

Congrats on your record tying night, Corey!

Corey is fast enough to get separation on the DB's when he needs to....even against Whisky and OSU's Big 10 Athletes.

Couple that with a great set of hands and a willingness to take a hit to make a catch and you have the latest in a long line of great BGSU WR's. I go back as far as Jeff Groth...then along came Meehan, Hunter, Thornton, Heard, Szlachic, Gerling, Redd, Magner, Sharon and Sanders....and now Partridge.

If AT can reach his potential and join the Miller, McClure, White, Henry, Harris Jacobs lineage, we'll be fine next year.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Not to worry-at 54 my times from the 60's have dropped dramatically with each new telling. Started out in the high 4s and by now those times are more like 3.4. Corey would have no chance against me then, now! :-D

I for one would be happy if he was as good as Sahm at some point.
