GREAT Falcon baseball news!!

Post by factman »

It was announced that Burke Badenhop was selected as the minor league "Pitcher of the Year" in the Detroit Tigers organization. Very nice honor for a very nice Falcon!!

I also heard today that BG received a HUGE verbal comittment from Elida's Brooks Mohr, and he will become a Falcon pitcher next year. He is already throwing 90+ rather consistently, this summer and fall. This recruiting class is really starting to round into shape, with several others already comitted for next year.

I wouldn't say that he throws 90+ consistently...i'd say closer to 85-88 consistently, popping 90 on occasion.
He is a very good pitcher, i've played against him a few times (we actually beat him when he was a sophmore i believe, in the playoffs)

Definantly a good signing for the Falcons

That report of 90+ came from a scout at a "pro" showcase that was held in Michigan earlier in September. I guess "consistent" depends on your interpretation, but he throws hard :!: I was also told that he had improved his velocity over the past summer.

This is great news for both Burke and the falcon program. Can't hurt with telling future recruits. Though I don't think Burke is really considered a top prospect in the system. At least he wasn't ranked in their top 10.
