This is getting rediculous. I don't know what's going on. I'm not in that room, but something's got to change. We've lost 11 of the last 12 games. Two is a coincidence. Three is a trend and four is a rut. What the **** is seven?
It's bad. But I'm still going to go tomorrow, because I love hockey, and you can't beat the 2 for 1 deal on tickets. Man...we gotta get one tomorrow before we go to Alaska, or this could get worse than it is. And I'm usually very positive. Go BG!

Despite the god awful officiating tonight, the team still looked horrible. Even with bad officiating you can still make a showing. Sure they were hitting people, but they still weren't shooting, they still weren't passing, they still NEVER have a man in the (please excuse the basketball term) post. I can count at least six times tonight where if a few guys were in position then a goal would have been produced. This game was rediculous in several ways.

so there were bad calls, could it be you are a little bias. You sadi yourself that the other coach told the ref to **** off. That should show bad calls from both sides.
Bottom line there hasn't been terrible reffing for all 11 games we've lost and even when there is good teams find away to get through it.

This season is turning more ugly by the day. 3-11-1, 1-8-0 CCHA?
Ouch. :x :(

I've got guys at work asking me what the hell is wrong with BG hockey...and they're all OSU fans. One was ripping me a couple weeks ago when OSU tore into us. I politely reminded the goon OSU still trails in the all time series by 30 or so games. But, it's all I had. :(

Trying to salvage pride at this point is getting rediculous. I found myself fighting with some ten year old hockey team at tonights game (they were rooting for NOU). Its pretty ugly when college students have to battle little kids. some pretty harsh yo momma jokes were exchanged though.

Another Night, another Loss.

Another Night, another Loss.

pdt1081, you can make all the excuses in the world it really doesn't matter, a loss is a loss. We can say the team is frustrated and are reacting to their frustrations but that does not win games. Read your post carefully, were you really at the same game as the rest of us? If your description of the game were correct we would have a bunch of pussy's on the ice. You obviously think they don't do anything wrong.
A lot of our aggression was just plain stupid. Matsumoto deserved his misconduct, he is not a physical player and seems to think being a cheap shot artist will make up for his lack of goal scoring. Paluch told his team "things are going to change" after last weekends debacle, and he did add James Unger. The result was the same.
The Power Play was not changed; the PK was not changed, so how have things changed. Collectively the team is -115, have scored 27 goals and had 60 scored against. Our record is now among the worst in all of DI and the moral of the team is worse than ever. What's missing? Could it be CHEMISTRY?

Overall: 3-11-1 • Conf: 1-8-0 • Home: 2-4-1 • Away: 1-7-0 • Neut: 0-0-0

From College Hockey News:

"Going the other way: AIC's lousy start notwithstanding, there are some other teams streaking in the wrong direction. For all of the struggles that the program has endured over the past several seasons, Bowling Green has lost seven straight in the same season for the first time since November 1999. The Falcons have not finished with a winning record in a decade, coming closest in 2004-05 with a break-even 16-16-4 season, and have endured four 20-loss seasons since their last 20-win campaign in 1996. BGSU is halfway to number five with 11 losses already this season. Northeastern has gone almost as long without a winning season — 1997-98 was their last — and Merrimack still has yet to post one in Division I after 17 years. With 8 and 10 losses respectively, things are not looking bright for either team to break the trend."

Although it was pretty bad in the first period, and the first half of the second period, the PK was markedly improved at the end of the game. They were spending NUO's last few power play opportunities in their own offensive zone and that was one of the few encouraging things of the evening. Here's hoping tonight a different team shows up, someone with some balls needs to show up.

Hall is a lousy referee. He's been calling 'em bad both ways for years. For some reason, he's still a part of the CCHA.

I had the good fortune of standing behind the net for that goal. I did not see white between the puck and the goal line, so the puck must've barely made it over. It wasn't there long, either. I thought Hall waved it off because the goal was loose or the whistle had blown.

I thought Paluch's head was going to explode!

The guys didn't play too badly, just not good enough.

You know, I could be a little biased. But, what, do you as a coach, tell your players who are being hauled down, tripped, held, etc, with no calls, tell your players to do? Tonight was possibly the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed. Whitmore gets a penalty for "holding the stick" when he ends up on the ice with the opposing player's stick between his legs. Last I knew, that was tripping, but I guess he has enough strength in his legs to hold on to someone else's stick with his feet](*,)

Anytime a single team has two, count them, 2 ten minute misconducts and a bench minor penalty in the same weekend it raises concerns. Concerns that are beyond the programs control. 10 minute misconducts are born out of frustration. More often than not, the frustrations lie with the officials.

How about the "official" explaination for not calling a contact to the head call was because the player wasn't standing upright. Mazzei was hit in the head with an elbow. Hall's explaination to Paluch as to why there was not a call was that Mazzei had fallen down and his head was the same level as the boards. It doesn't matter whether a player is standing upright or laying on the ice, hitting a player in the head is a penalty. Saying his head was the same level as the boards is rediculous.

Whitmore, first penalty of the game, had the opposing player's stick between his legs when he fell to the ice. He got a penalty for holding the stick. It wasn't tripping on UNO, no, it was holding the stick on Whitmore. Tell me, how many players do you know that are capable of holding the stick of an opposing player with only their legs? There was plenty that BG got away with in both games. Ask me, I'll be the first to admit that a penalty was a penalty. But, if an official is going to let one thing go on one team, he'd better let it go on the other. Tonight, and last night, that wasn't the case.
