Gettin' PUNK'd in UTAH

Post by FalkinCruiser »

I don't take too kindly to this jacko's comments about BG. I know they are all concerned about Urban Meyer leaving - but you don't need to "beat down" the university/city that took a chance on a untested coach - which then was snapped up in the middle of the night by some tree hugging loving school out west. But that's just my take on it.

here is the article

Make sure we file away his email address for the middle of January 2005. And whats with an "independent, student-run newspaper" calling for registrations? Free or not, they can bite my brown and orange ass.

Someone keep track of that will you? I don't trust myself to not lose it.

Directly from the article:

Meyer said that when he left Bowling Green, he thought the players would give him a pat on the back and say "Good luck coach!"

I was just on campus today, didn't see too many plains around. He must have been outside of the actual town himself if he was here! Or maybe he saw some Corvette's and was actually in Bowling Green, KY.

If this major tool had ever been to Bowling Green, he would have never made a comment to the effect that Utah's AD is better than ours. We, in fact, have one of the best AD's in all of NCAAland. Paul Krebs has rebuilt so many of our athletic programs here and has turned our's into one of the few profitable programs in the country. Utah's AD can't claim that. EVER.

This guy is a tool. Leave it to a bunch of Morman's to ignorantly underestimate us easterners. I'd love it if we could play Utah -- home or away. My guess is that Omar Jacobs would have a field day with them (we'd be ranked 8th in the nation if we were in their conference!!!!).

I have a small hatred for Mr. Krebs. He is the reason the band no longer plays the Hey song. It was disrespectful to other schools because of the "you suck!" part all the students through in! I like Krebs for what he has done with athletics, but that's it.

McMetz, personally, I have to agree with Krebs on that one. I think that our not playing that piece shows quite a bit of class for our institution. I think back to our game vs. NIU this year when that song was played over and over again by threir (horrible!) band. It was not only insulting, but incited a bit of anger in me. We don't suck, we just got outplayed.

This song was played during our hockey game tonight, and I must admit that a part of me was dissapointed in it. It sure is fun to play, but is that how we really want to welcome visitors to our campus? They may be opponents, but they are still visitors.

I don't know if any of you had the privalege of going to our game vs. Oklahoma this year, but to me, their fans are the model that everyone in the country should aspire to. They all went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and I was sure that if we had won they would have congratulated us on being an outstanding program rather than throwing things at us.

Think about it this way. If you're nice to opposing teams/fans, it will not only make them respect our institution in the long-run, but it will also make them feel less-bad about losing to us in the short-run (thereby making them much quieter).

I didn't get to make it to Oklahoma but I do know what you are talking about. Deep down I know that playing the song leaves a bad impression but it's just so fun for a student trying to put down the opposing team! While it does suck IMO not to have it, and it is probably best, I still have that SMALL hatred towards him because I'm just a rowdy fan and loved it!!!

I believe the thin air affects your ability to reason. Help me understand this. I thought Salt Lake City was the friendliest city on the planet. Everyone loves everyone else. How could someone be so condescending and full of vile digust as this lack-wit appears to be?

I've been the the Utes board quite often. Based on the many posts I have attempted to read, I believe BGSU offers a higher quality education than does Utah.
That board is quite painful at times. Ooof.

I can't wait for January. I'm going to email this "gentleman" and explain that Urban's ego is bigger than those mountains and his dedication to Utah is as thin as the air. That boy wants a shot at a national title and he will never get it at Utah.
