Talk about disappointing, losing two top kicking recruits after one season.
One bad season and they bolt. Come on guys give us a chance. Don't go running back home just because things didn't work out exactly how you expected.
Sorry if I don't sound very simpathetic, but until I hear their reasons for leaving I've got to assume that they just couldn't handle the adversity.

Sean had potential, but he wasn't a top recruit. Rojas was rated #1 by scout.com.
And for those that want to bash them for leaving, go back and read through post-game comments all year long from Brandon. No way in Hell I'd want to put up with that crap any more, and neither would any of you. What if you had a weekly meeting at your job, and every week your boss stood up in front of everybody and told them you suck. All this after your boss made decision after decision that made your job much tougher to do. How long would you stick around, and would your ex co-workers rag on you after you left for leaving? I doubt it.
Completely unacceptable from a head coach to put these kids in this position. They were 18-yr old freshman for Christ's sake -- and kickers to boot! Kickers have always been a little emotionally out there, and so have 18-year-old freshman. Sounds like a great idea to attack their confidence constantly. Great leadership. I put almost ZERO blame on these 2 kids for leaving.

Agreed, J4H. The guys were ripped apart all season in post game conferences. Then, in the postseason presser, GB tells everyone that they're going to sports psychologists. Basically, Brandon said all season that they suck physically and says after the season that they suck mentally too. I don't blame either of them one bit for leaving.

I'll bet you a shiny nickel that we have a kicker and punter on scholarship when the season starts next year.

Not unexpected news.
Good luck to him.
It will be interesting to see if Brandon decides to change the stupid punt formation next year or if he realizes he just lost the #1 punter because he was too stubborn to say the formation doesn't work.

While GB may have made some comments I have never felt that they were in anyway all that harsh, and I have read quite a few as well they offered encouragement and acknowledged they would become high quality kickers. To be rewarded with Schollies, they owe the school and the coaches more than one season.
I look forward to seeing what our new kickers will do.

Perhaps, but not straight out of high school as I stated above! I'm fine with scholarships to kickers out of Juco schools or even walk-ons that earn scholarships after putting in a little time. BG should not be recruiting punters and kickers as scholarship athletes directly from high-school, there are just to many unknowns and they commonly get beat out by non-scholarship kickers and punters. IMO, they are a waste to use on kids directly out of high school.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:UK Peregrine wrote:Sweet, two scholarships opened up for real football players.
