Where's 1987Alum?

Post by hammb »

It's been a long time since I've seen him post...any ideas what's up? It's not like Karl to just take off without at least giving us some warning. Hope nothing's wrong.

It's just strange to see somebody who usually is so frequently posting to just completely disappear for so long...

I was thinking the same thing too Hammb. I think I asked in the Hoops forum where Karl and Metz are. About two min. after you posted this I saw Karl signed in.

hammb:

Thanks for thinking of me!

Everything is OK here in Philly, but a combination of work and family issues (not all positive, but not "end of the world," either) have kept me from being able to spend time on the boards.

We watched the Miami game and have to say that I've never enjoyed a game so much in which the Falcons lost. Noah had never seen a Mud Bowl and I had always told him how much fun it was to play in such conditions. We had a blast watching both teams slog through the mud. I came on the boards briefly after the game and, frankly, there were too many people on the ledge.

By the time I thought it was safe to check in, the Toledo game had come and gone. Since then, I've just been reading. For some reason, I'm not sure that there's much for me to add to the conversation right now. By the time I plough through some of the threads, something (usually work) pulls me away; then I get back and I barely have time to catch up before something else crops up.

Hopefully, things will slow down somewhat. I miss the conversations here, even if I think the glass is half full and most folks think I'm half-witted.

You give yourself far too much credit.

LOL...

I can understand being busy. That just happens. I just found it unusual to see you gone for so long...I couldn't remember seeing a post from you in quite awhile.

Take care....I don't think you're halfwitted...I just think you're overly optimistic. Not that there's anything wrong with that ;)

Fun? Corey told me it was the most disgusting and horrible conditions he has ever played in and doesn't want to ever have to play in those conditions again. It was not fun for the players.

Fun to play in if you're like 10 years old..Not fun if you're a D1 athlete!!

That game was embarrasing to say the least. I hope to never see field conditions like that ever again. That's why I firmly believe we need to install the fake stuff....

Eh...what do you expect from a kid from Loveland? And whose father went to Kent State?

Nice! I can't ever remember running a cross country meet in those types of conditions.

I have seen some pretty good mud games at Loveland tho...

Alright, if Noah is going to veto the field turf move, I guess that about ends it.
