Moderators - thank you for your hard work on this forum

Post by Tech83 »

I know I should probably post this under the Admin Forum, but I think it belongs here since this forum is the genisis of my post.

I have been re-reading some of the threads and posts this morning. There are a handful of times the moderators have stepped in to edit someone for posts in poor taste. It made me thankful I am not a Moderator, but it brings me to respect the two moderators who have really waded into this typhoon of frustration, anger, hurt feelings, misunderstanding, and well..... just plain hate.

I was going to post this prior to reading a recent post/thread, which I hope gets removed. So it seems quite timely to thanks the moderators.

Rightupinthere and Falcon Fanatic - Thank you very much for all your work and efforts. You are both on the top of my list for "Folks with Class". I am proud to call you fellow alumni and Falcons.

I echo those thoughts...I don't post on this forum much, but I lurk a bit. As a fellow moderator on some other forums here, you guys are waaaay more patient, civil and dare I say it, mature than I would be.

I would have altered a number of the worst posts to read "I miss my mama and want her to nurse me again".

You may need to buy FF a drink before attempting THAT move.

And thank you for the kind thoughts. I don't believe I have performed that admirably. I have not been at all consistent as should be expected: For that, I'm regretful.

I also realize, however, that I'm trying to save the Titanic with a bailing bucket.

You may want to buy BGFan 10-15 drinks before attempting that, too. :-D

You mods are the best. All the other crap around here aside, you all deserve a humanitarian award just for putting up with me! :D

I agree in the thanks and can't believe that FF, RUIT and Schadenfreude are as patient as they are with some of these posts. I know how much hockey and this board mean to FF especially and how hard it has been for her to read some of these threads. I think some of the comments that have been made in some of these threads are much better left unsaid. Obviously people are frustrated with the team, the season--and of course the coach. But I don't feel that starting flame wars is the way to settle the problem. Hopefully, in the future, people can sit back and take a few breaths and think before they post. I don't think Grant envisioned this sort of thing when he started this board. And---he has every right to shut this board down. He's done it before.

Thanks!!!!! I appreciate the support and like RUIT, I don't feel I've done a very good job overall. I often to defer to him when I am frustrated and unsure of what to do. Today, I had no problem locking a thread that spiraling out of control.

I would like to take a moment to thank those posters who have kept a cool head when others have not. I understand the passion everyone feels, and I especially feel for the former players. We all love Falcon Hockey and only want to see it be the best it can be. Unfortunately that is not happening right now. And as many have posted, we, here on this board, are in no position to influence anyone regarding a coach's hiring or firing. With that said, I will do what I do best....continue to support Falcon Hockey through the good, the bad and the ugly!!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

HEY!!! Who are you calling ugly! I'll try not to take that personally.

You guys are doing fine. You have let us have enough rope to hang ourselves, then feel foolish for what we have typed. And you have stepped in when needed.
