Lloyd Carr retiring?

Post by transfer2BGSU »

From USA Today
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... rida_x.htm

Meyer, who has a $1 million buyout with three outs to Notre Dame, Ohio State or Michigan, has grown angry and tight-lipped every time he's been asked about the Florida job in the past week. One possible reason: Current Michigan coach Lloyd Carr may be contemplating retirement and that would be Meyer's dream job. Regardless, he's made it clear he's not talking about any other program right now, that he's concentrating on earning a BCS bowl bid at Utah.

I'd take Urban as a coach for the Maize and Blue anyday! If Carr does retire though, it will be a sad day in Ann Arbor! He's done some tremendous things with Michigan and I really would hate to see him leave...

Maybe John Cooper would come back and coach Michigan. Now wouldn't that be some excitement

Payback's a bitch! :)

Just please, lord, do not put Urban Meyer in Ann Arbor. I don't want another 12 years of losing to them 10 times like when Coop was in c-bus!

Just put Coop in Ann Arbor.. Thats one way to deminish the attendance and make more tickets readily available.

Cooper was the best thing to ever happen to Michigan! Get him back at OSU and I'll be happy

How about Cooper in Toledo!! I dont know what would be more exciting to watch. Watch Cooper struggle game after game, or watch AmStutz waddle across the field. I can see why their locker room is on their sidelines, he may run out of energy for the second half if he has to run any farther.

I never would have figured Urban as wanting a gig at Michigan. I might have pegged him for OSU, and obviously Notre Dame.

The ND fans will gnash their teeth if he winds up at Michigan and the remain stuck with Ty.

UM may want to to go to Michigan, but does Michigan want UM?

The media may think UM is the best thing since sliced bread, fried candy bars, and Old Milwaukee Light...but there are some athletic directors out there who may want someone a bit more established and more proven. I don't see UM being offered the Florida job.

That's what I was thinking. Not that two coaches necessarily makes a "tradition", but Michigan seems to do a big job of hiring from within. And Meyer and his style seem awfully "young" for Michigan, much less the Big Ten.

And anyway, I thought Notre Dame was his "dream job"??
