The worst damn band in the land...

Post by Metz »

...will be performing tonight at Whitmer High School in Toledo at 7:30 pm. I don't know how much tickets are but I was told by our director you can get them at the door. Someone I know from Whitmer has 2 extra tickets so if I get one, I might go just because it's free! So yeah, if you like the Suckeyes Marching Band, go check them out!!

Even if the team sucks, I gotta give props to TBDBITL. Everytime I watch Script Ohio live I get chills.

Just hearing those drums coming through the tunnels does it for me.

That is kinda funny. At the OSU game last year I didn't realize we were bringing our marching band to the game. When I heard drums coming I assumed it was OSU until it dawned on me that it was our cadence. That actually gave me chills. Having the band there was quite comforting considering small of a minority we constituted in the crowd.

Maybe you should watch closer next time you are shivering. After we did our pregame last year on their field, we got to stand right in front while they did the script Ohio. It wasn't until then when I noticed they run into each other going from the O to where the H crosses back down. Yes I'm picky with marching bands but come on, when it's something that holds this much tradition, it should be done perfectly.

Wholeheartedly agree. I was in Miami's band and we never claimed to be incredible. However, as much as they bust their ass, they should be better. I still remember when we played there in 2001, at morning practice, they were so serious. All we did was toss a plastic football around while they had these ridiculous uniform checks. Push-ups and all kinds of junk. Worst part, or best part I guess, we played the combined piece a whole lot better than they did.

During our morning practice last year we actually got their first. When they arrived and we did the combined thing, many of them looked to be confused by us having fun. They were there ready to go 110% and were serious like you said. After talking to some after the Skull session and at the game I realized they were alright but first impressions were not good. When it's 6:30 am on a gameday, you need to be having some fun while getting stuff done.
