What do you expect man?
I agree that Dakich needs to shut up on the sidelines. He does a LOT of whining, and yelling. He's not the worst coach I've seen, but he's certainly not among the most calm and collected either. That's what he is, I don't care for it, but there are lot of coaches with similar antics.
Yes, it sucks the program is losing right now. They're in a down rut, and hopefully they'll eventually get out of it, but that's part of sports. Not sure what happened in your "generation" but were we good every year? If so, that's awesome, but to quit supporting them because they're bad now seems pretty fairweather to me.
As for the students you're fighting a LOSING battle. There are 4500 seats in Anderson Arena. Not sure when you went to a game last, but I've been to nearly all the games in the past 3 years and for the most part you could've had your choice of about 3000 seats during those years. If you chose to sit in the one section (maybe 1000 of those seats) where people were standing all game long, then I don't feel sorry for you. You could've moved to other seats, or bought tickets for different seats if it was bothering you.
Students stand and might act inappropriate at sporting events. It's expected and you won't change it. Coaches yell and curse at sporting events, it's part of the game. Some team has to lose every game, it's part of sports. If you don't like these aspects of attending a sporting event, I guess you probably don't care for sports much. On it's surface sports is entertainment, like you stated, but to most fans it's much, much more.
