88.1 is making the trip. I heard them say so during the broadcast at St. Bonaventure. It will be great to be able to hear the games in Cancun.

Does anyone know if Duke might possibly do web feeds at all? I looked quickly but couldn't find anything. Just a thought.

There's barely any TV coverage for any WCB. 6 OSU vs 10 LSU wasn't on anywhere, and neither were any of Duke's last 3 games against ranked teams.

There just isn't a market unless both opponents are Duke, UNC, Uconn, or Tennessee.

Unfortunately, until conference play starts, the networks don't show enough womens college basketball. I know last year, ESPN had a contract with CUSA to broadcast a game every Sunday during the conference season. They will start to show more games starting in January, unfortunately they miss a lot of good games early in the year.

And that's what I want the team thinking. Screw this "playing respectable" stuff. Here is an opportunity for the women's program to make the biggest statement in the history of the program. I believe tipoff is 7pm next Tuesday so I am thinking some ESPN channel will have it. PPV could be a possibility as well.

So I just looked down thru Duke's schedule so far. Wow...they are something else. Duke's closest game has been a 69-48 win over #11 Vandy? Duke stomped #21 Rutgers on the road by 40 and beat #22 Texas by 28 at home. Holy crap....

Well, all BG has to do is play better than Duke for 40 minutes..... :-D

GO FALCONS!!!! DUMP DUKE!!
Talked to the coach last night after the coach's show. No TV coverage at all for this tourney.
Well, that totally bites. Coach Miller emailed me a reply the other day saying Duke likes to run up the score and flat out destroy teams...judging by their scores, he isn't kidding. I look at it this way...nobody expects BG to win except those folks in the locker room. Any given night.....

If we can get them into a close game in the second half, will they know how to react? They are pretty inexperienced compared to us. That's our advantage. We need to hit shots and hope they miss some.

Stranger things have happened.

Umm...excuse me. Please count me among those that EXPECT this team to beat Duke. And I do, most sincerely, hope that every member of this team reads this post. I believe in Coach Miller, I believe in the philosophy that this team plays with, and, most importantly, I believe in every single one of the players on the roster - freshman to senior. I expect them to be competative, and that expectation is in no way borne of some sort of unjustified superiority complex that I have as a fan of Falcon Hoops - it is the result of watching these young women play and seeing what they are capable of. They are one of the most talented groups of people I have ever witnessed in person on the hardwood - men or women. I expect a win over Duke - I don't care who the opponent is. Our Falcons are more than capable of victory.

Actually, I not only hope that the team sees this statement, I hope the coaches print it out and show it to them. I've not meant anything more sincerely in the recent past.

Back near Erie by where I grew up and my family still lives. NW corner of the state on the lake. Just waiting for the wife's teaching year to finish and for my job situation to clear up.

Duke has 6'7" center that leads the country in blocked shots. If Liz can pull her out of the paint in (wo)man to (wo)man coverage we might have a slim chance to keep the game within 20.

I'm sorry, but the disparity between us and the upper echelon women's teams is still pretty large.

We will have to play a '85 Villanova game to win this one.

I hope they prove me wrong.

I'm just happy the team is getting the chance to prove everyone wrong.

It's difficult to envision us winning this game, but I don't think it'll be as diffiult as you do to keep the score reasonable. We need to continue shooting well, and hope Duke doesn't. If that happens, we've got a puncher's chance to pull this thing out.
