Fine Nathan. The exit door off the bandwagon is to your left. Thanks for riding. :-D
Wow. Thats the overwhelming positive response that was why I did stay home after the UB game.

Truth be told, there aren't many on the BGSU bandwagon right now. And the Band wants the name of the wagon changed, they are taking it personal these days.

I don't mind people that want to be positive, it is when they, or anybody, start saying “your not a fan” or “stay home, we don't need your kind” that I really get galled. One way or the other, there are, and will always be people with positive and negative outlooks. Given that present times have both groups in close and frequent contact and debate, I'd rather people focus on that, rather than calling names, or imply lesser status due to personal views.
Call it whatever you want. Your "elitist" views have worn thin with me. I'm a "Kool aid" drinker because I choose to focus on the positive things for 2007 instead of the negatives all the time? Talk about name calling. Nobody was happy with 2006. But all the pissing and moaning won't change a thing about 2006.

As far as BG/OSU...what game were you watching? I thought BG's D played with plenty of passion. Ya know, the D unit that sacked Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith twice? The D unit that caused 3 or 4 holding calls to be whistled on OSU? The D unit that stuffed the OSU running game pretty well and held OSU to about 350 yards>

Or the O's drive to start the second half that chewed up 85 yards in 15 plays and 9 min off the clock...punctuated by that awesome catch by CP?
Or the O driving late in the game with Sheehan and other backups in trying to get the ball in the end zone? Or the O unit that moved the ball pretty well on the very stout OSU D?

You seem to have all the answers. Maybe you should coach the team.

Elitist? Hardly, realist, more likely.

And I didn't offer my views for your approval, nor did you offer your own as such. But the mentality that keeps wanting, clinging to the hope they can just dismiss what has happened, is part of why BGSU seems to get stuck in five years of lousy football for every two or three good ones.

I watched the entire Ohio State game, as I have generally watched all of the BG and Ohio State games that I could. And bluntly, live down in this part of the state, and it was as if that game literally didn't happen. And comparing not just BG's effort, but what I saw out of Ohio State, I stand by what I said.

OSU played flat, little real spark, and seemed like they were phoning it in. The coasted, were never pushed hard, and were never, ever, at any point, at any serious risk. They had to struggle to even pretend that game was even a challenge for them. Every single game I've watched them play, they have looked harder hitting, faster, and more motivated. And I wouldn't say BGSU wasn't excited to be there, but I think you would have to be crazy to believe any of those players though the outcome would be any different.

I'm looking at that entire game, not a couple of highlights which clearly did nothing to change the outcome. Its like the basketball adage: everybody makes a run.

Beyond that, the BGSU-OSU game are always better than the average MAC-OSU game. It was a clean game. Niether side made fools of themselves. But talk to folks outside the Brandon Bubble, and its not that big a result.

You seem to think the existing coach has all the answers. I'd like to hear some of them, but he doesn't want to share it seems.

Hey thanks for putting words in my mouth. Find one post anywhere on this forum where I stated GB has all the answers. That's what I thought. Just because I choose to give GB the benefit of the doubt for the last 2 years of his contract does NOT mean I think he has all the answers.

You say you aren't elitist? "Eminent" Falcon. Someone seems to have quite a high opinion of himself.

At this point, I'll agree to disagree.

OK OK OK, we disagree, let us go in peace and enjoy the weekend. As I'm not one to be personal in posts here, let me note that I did not mean to imply you personally were name calling. I intended that as a reference to what sometimes goes on in a larger context.

As for Eminent Falcon, it beats Manic Depressive Falcon. Which these days, in three major sports, is about what it is like!

You are a great fan Falconfreak90, I'd never imply otherwise. We'll just sit this spell out in our own ways.

Nathan,

That sounds fair and the right thing to do. I know how much you love BGSU and are a huge Falcon fan as well. I guess all the negativity, a lot of it deserved for this year's poor performance, just got to me. And all 3 sports? Yeah, it's pretty depressing right now. I hate seeing BG teams struggle.

At least we can find some common ground unlike other sites. We all want BG teams to do well and win titles.

The facts are clear to me, we had a young team and they were awful! I saw very little improvement from Wisconsin to Toledo. I went to half of the games this year so many of you saw more than I but I think with this team doesn't show some improvement G. Brandon would and could be gone.

His display during a press conference after the Temple lose wasn't funny. Wearing a mask because of the Temple lost. Nothing funny about that lost.

Not that I have any credibility, but BG-Navy is official now. 10 November at your place next year, return trip to Annapolis in 2009.

Any links? Of course I'm still having a hard time believing we will have a saturday game in November. Isn't MAC football supposed to be played between Monday and friday then

So then... (assuming our Navy friend is finally telling the truth here... )

Does that give us back to back MAC games with four days to prepare? Or will we actually get another Saturday game (Nov. 17), and then Toledo on either Wednesday (God, I hope not!) or Friday (23rd)? Tuesday (20th) would seem too soon, unless the previous week's game (Miami or Akron, I'd assume if we follow recent history) is played on really short rest on Wednesday the 14th.

Regardless of how it shakes out, home and home with Navy and getting the first one here is a great get. And by the 2009 trip, all those freshmen from this year will have four years experience for a great roadie to Annapolis.
