Has he retired yet from the league? Would he be interested in coaching BG?

Nope, not retired. He's back playing with the Kings this year.

No, Rob wouldn't be interested, even if he was retired, but a good friend of his definitely has some interest.

If my hunch as to who he's talking about is right, I'll give you, say... 19 guesses... :-D

I knew a #19 during my day and his name has been mentioned here before.

Most interesting.

Rob Blake...

Could not afford the pay cut. He still has a good few years ahead of him in the NHL and would make a great college coach, in the future.

I don't know if BG or any college would give a coaching position to someone who doesn't have at least a bachelor's degree. I doubt it.

Isn't Nemo an assistant coach with the Kings right now. Not slamming BG (or college hockey in general), but that would seem like an odd career move. I would have figured that a head coaching job in pro hockey (even at the minor level) would be the faster track. Correct me if I'm wrong.

He's actually a player development consultant for the Kings. It isn't a coaching gig per se. At the same time, I'm not sure his motives would be 100% financial.

Dan Bylsma is an assistant with the Isles (at least he was last season). Might he be a good choice?
