BG beats Wright State!
Falcons lost the lead with 17 min left in the game but fought their way back and won!
Lefeld was big down the stretch and Hamblet canned a 3 off a nice pass from Samarco to give BG a 55-53 lead with 52 seconds left.
Clements hit two big FT's with 30 seconds left to give BG a 57-54 lead. After a bucket by WSU, Clements was fouled again with 7 seconds left and hit 2 more FT's...HUGE. Way to go, Clements!
WSU missed a last second 3 pt shot!!
BG won 59-56> GUTSY WIN!!!
GO BG!~

That's a nice road win. Good job guys. Hung in there, and got the job done, even when things weren't absolutely perfect. A road win, following up on C. Arkansas, is exactly what the Dr. ordered. If we win against N. Colorado, (which we should), we'll be 6-3 heading to Marshall.
Dusan had some key hoops, too.

Nice comeback win!
It sure looked ugly but somehow aided by poor FT shooting by WSU , we claw back and get some great clutch FT shooting by Clements to help seal the deal. Didn't expect that from a guy who has rarely seen the floor this year but glad he was on today.

UGH. I was at that game with Class of 61. I still remember looking up and seeing the scoreboard reading 28-4. About as ugly as I've ever seen.NY-BG-FAN wrote:Great road win, especially after the way they manhandled us at home last year, that was awful. Yeah but at least it was a double-header day, and the women beat Buffalo prior. But that wasn't exactly a shock.Falconfreak90 wrote:UGH. I was at that game with Class of 61. As the user name implies, I'm a hockey fan first, but this game was a couple miles away so I went.
It was definitely ugly. I think as I was driving back the WSU radio guys said the Raiders had 21 more floor shots than we did, outrebounded us by 9 and had 8 (I think) fewer turnovers. The Raiders' shooting was awful. If it had been even a little better, this one is a loss.
Oh well. A win is a win.

It was a road win in a tough situation. That bodes well. This is a good win.
I'm looking forward to having Marcshall and Miller in the lineup.
It's great to see Clements play a role in the win. We'll need his toughness and overall ability to deliver in February.

I don't have the link but M. Fulton from the Blade wrote a nice game story in which DD complements Clements on his clutch shooting and his grades for the first semester, 4.0! How many coaches after a win complement a player for his grades? Not many.BleedOrange wrote:It was a road win in a tough situation. That bodes well. This is a good win.

She also wrote a nice story on Dusan.
I watched most of the game on the web cast, which was great! The MAC needs to look into that. I thought the team played very well, sure they had too many turnovers but I think that was Wright St. lowest shooting % for the year. You have to like the way Larson and Polk both play double digit minutes and contributed. DD played 10 guys more than 10 minutes! That's some depth without Marcshal, Sullivan and Miller!
This team will have it's ups and downs but they seem to show lots of heart. After being up 11 in the first half and then come out in the second half and get out scored 17-2, falling behind by 9 in the second half only to come back and win. That shows me some serious heart and desire.
Go Falcons!

This is a very important point. Our front line was missing our two likely starters for January and February, and we won on the road with a good bench rotation that included our 6-9 pups. I like this fact as much as the win itself. It looks like we are heading into the MAC season with more depth than we've had in a very long time. We have a history of running out of gas in February. Perhaps that won't happen this year and we'll take an energetic team to the Q? Let's hope so.OSUFALCON wrote:You have to like the way Larson and Polk both play double digit minutes and contributed.
