5-10, 185 with 4.45 speed.

A very good get it would seem...

He will be a two star as soon as they learn where he is transferring to.

HE sounds like he could be the lighting to Bullocks thunder....

Looks like a good get!

Sounds like he will fit right in to our system running hard and catching it out of the backfield.

5'10" 185 really isn't very big..... I hope he can take a hit!

For comparative purposes, look at that little guy Kent had this year at RB. The kid was freakin' 5-6, maybe 170, and he looked very good at times. Hell, look at Garret Wolfe if anyone! I don't know his exact size, but he is pretty tiny in football terms.

P.J. Pope is only 5-9 and though he finished his career here at more than 200 pounds, I'm guessing he was in the 180-190 range when he arrived.

Anytime we can add a *** talented player it's a good get.

I do have a question as to how we'll use him though. The one part of our team that was actually promising last year was the running game with Barnes/Bullock. With those two being so young, they're obviously going to be sharing roles with the new guy who will be a Junior when he gets here.

My guess is that Barnes will move to WR permanently without many carries at all except on end arounds, etc. I imagine then that Bullock & Ransom will share carries. I expect him to be a more shifty quick runner, as opposed to Bullock's more powerful style.

Should be interesting to see how this offense evolves. We add another rushing threat, will we be able to throw the ball next year?

Yeah...but this guy is two years older than PJ was when he got here. Bullock is a classic north/south, between the tackles guy like PJ was. Based on his size and speed, Ransom sounds like a change of pace guy...I'm thinking we could use him like USC used Reggie Bush, give him a few carries here and there and line him up in the slot from time to time. I don't hink he's a 25 carry a game guy...we have Bullock for that anyway.

I don't know what this means for Dan Macon. Yoiu don't bring in a JC guy like this with the idea in mind of sitting him.

With 10+ designed QB runs a game, will there be enough carries left for anyone besides bullock?

A scat back, which is what he sounds like, is very well suited for our offense. I hope he's a good receiver, since Bullock is still learning that skill.

As far as Macon goes -- meh. I wouldn't be too upset if he gets pushed back to garbage time. He was pretty ineffective all year long. I think this signing is a signal that the staff feels the same way.

Now how about some juco receivers?

The guy rushed for 697 yards at Trinity Valley State and you think he is going to force Macon out of the rotation? Macon rushed for 387 yards against Division I-A talent.

Why would we sign a Juco guy otherwise?

Ransom -- Best back in Juco Texas

Macon -- 4th best back in Bowling Green, Ohio

Tough choice.
